Diljit Dosanjh is a name that the world knows, courtesy of his super-hit Punjabi songs and films. From Ambanis to Jimmy Fallon, everyone wants to feel the magic of Diljit's voice and charm. While we all know his professional accolades, no one knows about his life behind the camera or his family. Earlier this year, murmurs about having a wife and child went viral, but Diljit never addressed it. However, for the first time introduced his mother and his sister in his live concert.
It's been a long since Diljit gained stardom with his films and songs in the Punjabi industry, but for security reasons, he has always kept his family away from the media limelight. However, things seem to have changed, as Diljit introduced his mother during his live concert in Manchester. The singer who was dressed in a black Pathani suit with a matching black turban, and a phulkari doshala.
On the other hand, his mother was dressed in a simple white suit with no makeup and hair tied in a back pony. She got extremely emotional as the singer introduced her to his fans, and said, "By the way, she is my mother." Everyone rooted the loudest for the mother-son duo, and seeing all this Diljit's mother broke down in tears, while he continued singing, 'Dil tenu de ditta main taan soneya, Jaan tere kadma ch rakhi hoyi ae'.
Diljit even bowed down to her, gave a kiss on her forehead and gave a warm hug to her. Further in the video, he also introduced his sister, who was also present and looked the happiest when she saw her baby brother perform live on stage. He also bowed down in front of her and got emotional as he said:
"She is my sister, aj meri family bhi aayi hui hai."

Earlier, in a podcast with Ranveer Allahabadia, Diljit Dosanjh shared that his parents, who belonged to Dosanjh village in Punjab, forced him leave the home at the age of eleven to stay with his maternal uncle in the city. Since there were not many opportunities, his parents forced him to migrate to a city with his uncle from their village. After which, his connection with his parents ended. He mentioned that his parents never asked him about his wish. He said:

"I was eleven years old when I left my home and started living with my mamaji (maternal uncle). I came to the city leaving my village behind. I shifted to Ludhiana. He said ‘send him to the city with me’ and my parents said ‘yes, take him.’ My parents did not even ask me."
Diljit further added that he would stay alone in a small room. During those days, there were not many mobile phones and even if he had to call or receive a call from his parents, it would cost him money, and slowly his family became distant. He was quoted as saying:
"I used to stay alone in a small room. I used to just go to school and come back, there wasn’t any TV. I had a lot of time. Also, we didn’t have mobile phones back then, even if I had to call home or receive a call from my parents, it cost us money. So I started becoming distant from my family."
