Diljit Dosanjh has gained international fame because of the varied shows he has done in India for his fans. His India tour of Dil Luminati 2024 gave him a lot of love from fans across all walks of life. He even performed internationally. However, it seems like the Indian pap community has not been happy with the way Diljit's team has conducted his approach towards the paparazzi.
As reported by the Screen, Varinder Chawla, who is an Indian pap, revealed that until a few years back Diljit was appreciative of the pap culture in India and would converse with them. However, it is not the same case anymore. This is because the pap felt that Diljit initially used to engage with the Indian paps but now the singer has hired international bouncers who do not allow the paps to click candid pics of the singer. During an interview with Faridoon Shahryar, Varinder noted that 3-4 years back, Diljit had shifted to Mumbai from Punjab and supported the pop culture. However, the case is not the same now. In his words:
"It was almost 3-4 years ago that he moved from Punjab to Mumbai and had a few movies up for release. Whenever I would post about him, he would like the post. Whenever I texted him, he would reply. He was really enjoying paparazzi culture then.”
Varinder, going further in the interview, also said that now Diljit is an international celebrity. He really liked the paparazzi culture a few years ago, and now he has hired a few international bouncers who shine some bright lights on the paparazzi so they can't get the photos and videos. The pap also noted:
"There were two international bouncers with Diljit just a few days ago."
The pap further expressed that in the US, a celebrity can get bright lights, and the Indian paps also used to do the same a couple of years back. The pap also noted that on one hand, Diljit walks with folded hands but does not allow the paps to do their job. He also noted that no photographer ever disturbed Diljit at the airport. Whenever he arrives at the airport the photographers just tell ' paaji paaji '. Now, the singer does not allow them to even click pictures.
The singer recently expressed his disappointment over the lack of basic and proper infrastructure for live shows during an event in Chandigarh. The singer revealed that he would only perform in the future once the notice was addressed further. He had to then take on X to reveal that his statement was misinterpreted. The singer re-posted a tweet that read, "BIG NEWS: Diljit Dosanjh announces he won't do shows in India due to poor concert infrastructure". He replied to the same by tweeting, "Nope... I said CHD ch Venue di Prob. C So..whenever I get the right venue, I don't get the next show plan till CHD.."
