Bollywood veteran actress, Dimple Kapadia was once head-over-heels in love with the yesteryear superstar, Rajesh Khanna. Their wedding in 1973 wasn't less than a jalsa and was celebrated all over India, but Rajesh Khanna's female fan following was left heartbroken. For the unversed, Dimple Kapadia was just sixteen when she got married to the superstar. However, their marriage didn't last long. After having two lovely daughters, Twinkle and Rinkee, the couple separated in 1982, but they never divorced each other.
During an event in 2018, Dimple Kapadia recalled her split and also revealed how Twinkle handled it all. In a video shared by Brut India on their Instagram handle, Dimple was asked who is more like a mother in the family, and without even blinking an eye, Dimple named, 'Twinkle'. While she was talking about Twinkle and the way she takes care of her family, Dimple shared how Twinkle dealt with her separation from Rajesh.

Dimple revealed that Twinkle was seven or eight when she moved out of Rajesh Khanna's home. However, Twinkle showed maturity and just wanted to take care of her and know if she was okay. She was quoted as saying:
"She was an amazing child. She must have been all of, I think, seven or eight when I got separated. And the kind of maturity (she showed). She was only wanting to take care of me, to see if I am okay, if everything is alright with me and… There’s a lot of things I can’t say but she was a like my friend. She was like a friend to me, then she turned into a monster mother so that’s how she is today."

Earlier, during an old interview in Vancouver, Rajesh Khanna was asked about his complicated marriage with Dimple, and if he had any plans of getting back with her. To which, Rajesh stated that they were never separated. It is true they live separately but Dimple had not divorced him, and he doesn't know why. He was quoted as saying:
“Doobara matlab? Pehle kahan alag the? Yeh hai ki alag-alag rehte hai kyunki abhi tak divorce nahi diya hai na usne, wo deti hee nahi hai. Yeh to woh jane kis liye nahi deti hai, pata nahi kis liye. Jab woh ayegi yahan Vancouver mein tab unse ye poochiyega. Woh apko sahi jawab degi. Main to itna hi keh sakta hoon ki nahi diya hai divorce, toh nahi diya. Unki marzi hai. Aur ab kya hai, baat toh dilon ki hai."
Dimple Kapadia once revealed that she didn't want to work in the later years of her life. In fact, she tried her best to extricate herself from the projects and even consulted her lawyers. However, her every trick failed. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Dimple revealed that she had no plans to resume work altogether.
But it was her daughters, Twinkle Khanna and Rinkee Khanna who made her do it. Dimple didn't feel like working at all. Sharing an incident, Dimple revealed that it was her daughter, Twinkle and her blunt advice that forced her to resume work. Sharing the details of the whole episode, Dimpla revealed that Twinkle bluntly asked her if she needed money and if she should keep the vanity at home, she had to work. Dimple was quoted as saying:
"Once, I told Twinkle, ‘I don’t want to work anymore. It’s too much and my health is going down. There is tension.’ There were questions that why should I look at myself like this on screen now? Why do I need to do it?” and Twinkle just looked at me and said, ‘You need money?’ I said, 'Yes’. She said, ‘Then keep your vanity at home and go to work’. That was it, it was as blunt as that."
Well, Twinkle supported her mother, Dimple a lot, and in fact, she had started acting to help her financially!
