Dipika Kakar Converts To Islam Before Marriage And Also Changes Her Name, Here's The Proof!

One of the favourite jodis from the telly town, Sasural Simar Ka couple, Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim were pronounced as Mr and Mrs on February 22, 2017. It was a close-knit nikah ceremony in a village in UP where Shoaib’s parents got married decades ago. All their pre-wedding functions including mehendi, haldi and sangeet were totally fun-filled and colourful affairs.

Before they said Qubool Hai to each other, there were rumours doing the rounds that Dipika will convert her religion to Islam before her nikah. While we were unsure about it, as per the sources, Dipika has converted to Islam for marrying her beau Shoaib Ibrahim. Dipika changed her name also and is now called Faiza. Yes, that is right and their wedding invite is the proof. As per the reports, one of the sources got hands on the copy of the wedding card which was distributed in the village where it is referring to bride and groom as Faiza and Shoaib, respectively. As per a report in India Today, Dipika's new name is Faiza and she will be going by it from now on. Check out the wedding card pictures here:

Another source close to the couple gave more clarity on Dipika Kakar's Islam conversion. As per Bollywood Life, a source exclusively mentioned that she has not converted her religion and is still Dipika Kakar. After the wedding, she will only change it to Dipika Ibrahim. The source retorted, “She has not converted her religion. Her name is Dipika Kakar only. She will change it to Dipika Ibrahim. I spoke to them personally. They have used Faiza only for the invitation cards.”

Shoaib Ibrahim and Dipika Kakar

The Muslim bride Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim kept their wedding a simple affair but added the filmi element to the whole ceremony. Be it the recreation of the DDLJ train sequence, or sharing the latkas and jhatkas on the song Chal Pyaar Karegi from the film Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, everything attracted eyeballs around. This much-in-love couple, Dipika and Shoaib have been an inspiration to other couples as their different religion didn't come in between their love. Dipika and Shoaib’s picture as husband and wife is full of love. Other than their beautiful wedding outfits by Aliya Fashion House, Dipika in her pink, gota patti work sharara and Shoaib, in his light-pink embellished sherwani looked like a couple made in heaven. All their pre-wedding functions pictures were shared under the hashtag #DoDilMilRaheHai and after their nikah, their pictures were shared under the hashtag #DoDilMilGaye. Isn’t the change of hashtag really sweet?

Dipika Kakar Wedding

Coming back to the Dipika's Islam conversion, in another interview to a leading portal, Shoaib once mentioned that Dipika wants to have a nikah and that they will also be following some Hindu rituals. Due to their different religion, a lot of times, women are given different names by their in-laws as a part of the ritual. And it is totally up to the family and the bride if they want to live by that name or not. Whether she changed her religion and name or not is a different story and no official statement is released. But the love that Shoaib’s family showers on Dipika and pampers her we are pretty sure that they will not force her for anything but will give her the choice.

What do you have to say about the religion change for marrying the love of her life? Well, we wish the best for Dipika and Shoaib for their future life!
