Dipika Kakar is one of the famous faces of the television industry. The actress rose to fame with her role as 'Simar' in the series, Sasural Simar Ka. Dipika became the winner of Bigg Boss 12, and she also took part in Nach Baliye 8. In her personal life, the actress is married to Shoaib Ibrahim, and they are parents to their kid, Ruhaan. The actress recently turned another year old. Amid this, let us look back at the time when Dipika talked about coming from a broken family and revealed how it influenced her decision to be a homemaker.
In an interview with ETimes TV, Dipika Kakar talked about her parents' broken marriage and how it affected her. The actress said that despite everything she maintains a cordial bond with both of her parents, and they have always been by her side. Dipika added that it affects a child when he/she comes from such broken family dynamics. Sharing how it affected her, Dipika said:

"They have always been there for me individually, and I totally respect that. When they had to stand by me, they did it individually and aaj bhi main dono ke touch mein hoon and we share a very cordial relationship. Lekin, jab aap ek aise ghar mein bade hote ho as a child toh wo aapko ek different way mein hit karta hai aur wo koi kitna bhi keh le, wo ek aisa emotion hai, aisa phase hai jo har bachha differently accept karta hai."

The actress revealed that she has become an introvert, and although, she shares an adorable bond with everyone, it takes her time to make friends. Dipika mentioned that there are a few people whom she can allow in her inner circle. Dipika can be quoted as saying:
"A child may get depressed, another may get aggressive, some may become an introvert, some may become extroverts. Main sehemi hui thi. Hence even today I do not make friends easily, I have a very few friends. When I work, I am cordial to everyone on sets but I allow a very few people in my inner circle.''
Going further in the interview, Dipika Kakar shared that she always looked forward to being a part of a home that would be full of love and emotions and that would fill the space in her heart. The actress said how coming across Shoaib's family has filled the gap in her heart. Dipika added that she felt complete after she entered into this family. In Dipika's words:
"When I grew up, I always had this urge that I want to have a good family. My house has to be good, has to be happy, has to be full of love and emotions and relations. So this was something which I always looked forward for. That empty space in my life, rishte sahi mayno mein, wo pyaar wala ghar, wo mujhe meri is family se mile hai. Be it Shoaib, be it Saba, be it ammi or papa, everybody. I felt complete when I entered this family.''

In the same interview, Dipika Kakar opened up about the negative comments that she had to face while choosing to be a housewife after getting married. The actress shared that the real meaning of woman empowerment is a woman's freedom to do whatever she wants to do and what makes her happy. And it doesn't necessarily mean that one has to deck up in modern clothes and step outside to prove employment. Dipika added that she doesn't at all care about all these trolls that came her way, as being a housewife and taking care of her family makes her happy.

Interfaith marriage has always been an issue. Dipika and Shoaib bore the brunt of it. However, none of the couple's family members ever objected to their relationship. When asked about Dipika's father's response after hearing about their relationship, Shoaib shared that the actress' father said that it is the couple's life, and they want to live happily ever after, so they are also ready for it.
