Dulquer Salmaan is one of the most famous names in the South Indian film industry. For the unversed, Salmaan is the son of Mollywood’s superstar, Mammootty, and his wife, Sulfath. The handsome actor, Dulquer Salmaan, followed in his papa's footsteps and worked in back-to-back super-hit films. In his personal life, Salmaan married Amal Sufiya on December 22, 2011. The duo is the proud parents to their adorable daughter, Maryam Ameerah Salmaan. However, in a recent interview, the actor talked about his love story, and it's simply heart-winning.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Dulquer Salmaan opened up about his love story with Amal Sufiya. The handsome actor shared that his wife, Amal is five years junior to him. The actor shared that when he was 12, his wife was in class 7. Talking about the same, Dulquer Salmaan recalled when his family members discussed him getting married at a certain age. The actor mentioned that he was against the idea of an arranged marriage as he could never “accept or reject” anyone. The actor also shared that he used to bump into Amal all over Chennai during that time. Salmaan can be quoted as saying:
"She was five years my junior, which is again creepy. When I was in 12th, she was in 7th, she was like a child...For some weird reason, I kept seeing my wife Amaal in Chennai. For two weeks, I kept bumping into her."

In the same interview, the actor revealed that as he used to bump into his wife, he thought it was a sign and slipped into her Facebook. Dulquer Salmaan recalled when he and his wife first met and shared that their families knew about it. Salmaan shared that he talked to his family and told them there's a girl from his school and there could be some possible alliance, so he wants to meet her first. Salmaan mentioned that he asked his wife to talk to her parents about the same. Recalling the incident, the actor mentioned:
"Random places like at the movies, or at the salon, and I was like maybe this is a sign. So I reached out to her on Facebook or something..I (told them) look, there’s this girl from my school. I think that’s a possible alliance but I want to first meet her and see if there’s something there. I told her also tell your parents. We’ll officially meet for a coffee. There’s nothing there. We’ll just be school mates who met for a cup of coffee."
Further, in the same interview, Dulquer Salmaan talked about his first meeting with his wife, Amal. The actor shared that he drove from Chennai to Pondicherry and talked for four hours. Calling it borderline creepy, like kidnapping, Dulquer Salmaan shared:
"My first date with my wife, I drove her from Chennai to Pondicherry in an hour and a half. We spoke for like four hours or something, I drove back."

Earlier in an interview with Masala.com, Dulquer Salmaan was asked about the presence of women in his life. In response, the handsome actor shared that as his father remained busy with his career, he grew up with his mum, sister, and grandmother. He also talked about adding his wife, Amal Sufiya and daughter, Maryam Ameerah Salmaan, into their house, which made it a women-centric household.
