Mothers are angels without wings, who fill our days with rainbow and nights with sweet dreams! Being a mother is a 24*7 thankless job for which you get paid only with smiles, kisses and lots of giggles. It is not at all an easy ride, and mind you, it gets more bumpy with the passage of time. And television producer, Ekta Kapoor is on cloud nine ever since she embraced motherhood. On January 27, 2019, Ekta got blessed with a baby boy via surrogacy and took on the journey of a single mother. On January 27, 2020, Ekta's son, Ravie turned a year older. The producer had shared a special post for her son, Ravie for his first birthday. She had posted a video, and had captioned it as "JAI MATA DI Exactly a year ago on this day a new journey began... writing’ mentalhood’ had made me paranoid. Being a mother was not easy, a life long commitment. u came smiled n I knew. I finally belonged! Thanku alt digital for making this video n gifting it to me and sorry maasi @smritiiraniofficial ur stressed I know...happpie bday ravioli."

Recently, in an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Ekta revealed that there were many, who told her to re-organise her priorities after the birth of her son, Ravie. The producer shared that she never saw motherhood in that light. She loves her and if she quits it then she will regret it later and will blame her son, Ravie while he had never asked her to give it up. In the same interview, Ekta also shared that she often meet women, who say their parents feel it’s okay that they aren’t married and points her as an example. For those who don't know, Ekta Kapoor was waiting to take on the journey of motherhood for the past seven years and had tried various methods over the years, but nothing worked. In one of her Instagram posts, she had thanked her doctor, Nandita Palshetkar, who is an IVF specialist. She had written, "Thank you doctor Nandita it’s been a 7-year journey! By God's grace, I have seen many successes in my life, but nothing beats the feeling of this beautiful soul being added in my world. I cannot even begin to express how happy my baby's birth has made me. Everything in life doesn't go the way you want it to but there are always solutions to those hiccups. I found mine and today I feel immensely blessed to become a parent. It is an emotional moment for me and my family and I can't wait to begin this new journey of being a mother to my little bundle of joy, Ravie Kapoor."
In an interview with News 18, Ekta had talked about her reaction when she got to know that the surrogate had conceived. She had shared, "When I knew that the surrogate had conceived, and it was on June 7. On my birthday I got to know. I was a bit overwhelmed. I was like 'Okay this is happening. This is going to be a huge responsibility. I just wrote a show out which is going to be with an A-list Bollywood actress. It's called Mentalhood. It's about motherhood and every time we did the scripting about the Momzillas and the pressure you go through, the guilt you go through, tiger moms, helicopter moms, I was constantly feeling overwhelmed. But now I have realised that I have a lot of guilt even now."

In an interview with The Times of India, Ekta had revealed that she takes her baby along with her to work. She had said, "Being a working mother, one has to manage things. I checked his chart and got to know that he has a high temper. People think am short-tempered, but he is the one."
