Emraan Hashmi is best remembered for his romantic, chocolate-boy era in Bollywood, with films like, The Train, Gangster, Jannat, Murder, Awarapan among others. However, it seems like he broke his good boy image after a long while, as he recently portrayed the role of an antagonistic spy in the film, Tiger 3. And now, the actor opened up about the kind of equation he shared with his co-star and Bollywood’s bhaijaan, Salman Khan.
In an interview with Connect FM Canada, Emraan Hashmi talked about the kind of equation he shared with a senior actor like Salman Khan. Interestingly, unlike many others, Emraan doesn’t address the latter with the common acronym of bhai and talks to him on first-name basis. Elaborating on the same lines, Emraan mentioned that he doesn’t need to maintain a good equation with his peer through buttering. Adding how respect for someone should be authentic and heartfelt, Emraan said:
“Respect doesn’t come from what you say verbally; it comes from your behavior; you show respect through your actions. I truly believe this, and this has been my family’s upbringing. I respect everyone; I don’t, in any way, segregate people on a film set. I respect all equally. It’s thanks to my grounding and my family background."

In an earlier interview with Zoom Entertainment, Emraan Hashmi talked about his low-profile life beyond the celluloid. He shared his belief that most stars maintain a certain allure of their personality, in order for their films to work at the box-office. Moreover, he shared his dislike for attending parties and events in Bollywood, and added that in such situations, he is always the first one to leave. Sharing how he doesn’t indulge in drinking at parties, Emraan said:
“I didn’t stay beyond 12, because I get up at 6:30, 7 in the morning. I was never a big fan of parties. I don’t know why. They just don’t do anything for me. I don’t drink, therein lies the biggest problem. And I don’t make film industry small talk. The last thing I want to do is talk shop after pack-up.”
In the same interaction, Emraan also revealed that he does not like to attend film screenings and premiere events, be it for his own films or for others. The actor explained that he finds himself frank enough to give his honest review on a film, and does not really butter up or give a flattened reaction despite having not liked one.

For the unversed, Emraan Hashmi hit the headlines back in the day when he made an insulting comment about Aishwarya Rai’s beauty and called it ‘plastic’ during his stance in the chat show, Koffee With Karan. Later, he revealed that he said it in the heat of the game and even issued a public apology from the actress, however, he recently shared the reason behind his now nursed avarice against joining the show again. He mentioned:
“If I go on Koffee with Karan again, I’ll make a mess of things again. I’ll probably be worse-off in the rapid-fire round than I was before. I don’t have anything against these people. I just wanted to win the hamper. And then you say weird things.”
