The ‘He Man’ of Bollywood, Dharmendra had tied the knot with the Dream Girl of Bollywood, Hema Malini on August 21, 1979, despite the fact that he was an already married man. Dharmendra and Hema were blessed with a little angel on November 2, 1981, and named her Esha Deol and in the year, 1985, the couple had welcomed their second daughter, Ahana Deol.
Just like her parents, Esha Deol too chose to make her mark in Bollywood. In a conversation with the Indian Express, talking about how men and women are treated differently, Esha Deol revealed that her father, Dharmendra did not want her to enter Bollywood as he is possessive and orthodox. She said, “I wouldn’t say that they have it tough. Yes, there is a different level of challenge and boys too have their own set. As far as my father is concerned, he is possessive and orthodox, and for him, girls should be kept away from the world in a protected way. That was what he must have felt, also knowing how our industry functions. All said and done, we managed and how!”
Earlier on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2020, Hema Malini had talked about her husband, Dharmendra’s reaction to their daughter, Esha’s entry into Bollywood. She had said, “Esha was interested in extra-curricular activities such as sports and dance. Like in our house, we used to do dance practice because of which she started liking it and wanted to be a professional dancer and even make her career in Bollywood. However, Dharamji didn’t like his daughter dancing or making her Bollywood debut and he had an objection to that.”

Earlier, we had found a childhood picture of Esha with her father, Dharmendra, where she was seen standing on his back as he had happily given her a ride. Esha had looked cute in a white ensemble with a goofy smile on her face.
For every father, her daughter’s wedding is one of the most emotional moments of his life. Esha Deol had married her childhood sweetheart, Bharat Takhtani on June 29, 2012, and her vidaai video had showcased Dharmendra’s immense love for her. In an unseen video of Esha’s vidaai, we could see an emotional Deol family and an inconsolable father, Dharmendra. Speaking about his jaan, Esha ahead of her vidaai, the doting father had said, “Esha meri jaan hai, meri bahaut pyaari beti hai. Betiyan badi hoti hai to unke liye fikr badhti hai ki achha ladka dhundha jaaye toh humein accha ladka mil gaya. Ab shaadi ho gayi hai ab vidai ho jayegi toh lagta hai ki paal pos ke bada karte hai fir ek din paraye ghar chali jaati hai.”
Esha will be next seen in the Disney+ Hotstar VIP crime-drama series Rudra-The Edge of Darkness along with Ajay Devgn.
