Back in 2021, on the occasion of Father’s Day, Esha Deol during an interaction with ETimes had recalled one of her fond memories from her childhood that featured a special episode with her dearest daddy, Dharmendra. Esha mentioned how on a particular day when her mommy, Hema Malini had stepped out for work, it was her father, who had taken care of her and performed daddy duties to get her ready for the day. In her words:
“There is one memory that is absolutely hilarious. I still remember it because I was around the age where I could remember things. We were all on a vacation abroad and my mom had gone out shopping a little early in the morning. I woke up with only papa in the room and started crying looking for Mumma. He consoled me saying he was there and that he will do everything for me. He bathed me, combed my hair, made me wear a party frock, put kajal in my eyes, and gave me an oily hairstyle. My mom walked in to find me all dressed up at nine in the morning. That was really cute."

For the unversed, Esha Deol is happily married to her bestie-turned-soulmate, Bharat Takhtani, who is a diamond merchant by profession. Moreover, the duo is parents to their baby girls, Radhya Takhtani and Miraya Takhtani. Being a mother now, Esha now realises the beauty of the relationship between a parent and a child. Speaking on the same lines, Esha once spilled beans on the kind of bonding her daughters shares with their grandfather, Dharmendra. She had mentioned:
“He is a wonderful grandfather. He loves to spend time with our children. He turns into a kid himself when he plays with them. My kids also love their nanu a lot. They spend a lot of time playing and dancing with him. I think he sees my childhood in my daughters. He is reliving them through my kids. I think it is beautiful!"

Esha Deol is the daughter of Hema Malini and Dharmendra, who have been regarded as two of the most successful actors of their times. The duo has recorded a handsome career graph, and have been considered no less than megastars in their own right. However, in comparison to them, Esha has managed to create a somewhat mediocre film career that has even been curtailed due to a lack of befitting opportunities. Earlier in an interview, Esha spoke about how her parent’s stardom has affected her from right before she even made her debut. In her words:
“I didn’t know till it happened. I was only 18 when I started acting, and at that age, you are very naïve, very excited, you’re gonna act and all that is there. When you see certain things and you’re reading some article, then you realize they are comparing my first movie’s performance to my mom who’s done maybe more than 200 films.”

While Esha might have had stepped into glamour world much like her parents, the journey for the same had been far from smooth. In fact, right at the beginning, her steps were hindered since it was her father, Dharmendra whose orthodox beliefs and possessive nature stopped his daughter from going out there. Spilling more beans on it, Esha Deol, once in an interview with The Indian Express had revealed:
“I wouldn’t say that they have it tough. Yes, there is a different level of challenge and boys too have their own set. As far as my father is concerned, he is possessive and orthodox, and for him, girls should be kept away from the world in a protected way. That was what he must have felt, also knowing how our industry functions. All said and done, we managed and how!”
