Esha Deol, one of the much-talented actresses in Bollywood, never skips a chance to win the hearts of her fans with her acting skills, gorgeousness, and more. The actress began her career with the movie, Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe back in 2002, and then she established herself as one of the most successful actresses. While, Hema Malini had been a big support in Esha's career, Dharmendra was a bit hesitant about it. But Esha followed her dreams and never looked back. In a recent interview, Esha revealed that her father wanted her to get married in her teens.
Recently, in an interview with Hauterrfly, Esha Deol said that her father, Dharmendra didn't want her to work in films and rather wanted her to get married and be settled by the age of 18. She called Dharmendra rightfully orthodox and mentioned that he had always seen women around him like this, and all the women around him had been brought up in this particular way. Sharing that her upbringing was different, Esha added:

"He didn’t want that I should enter the movies. He is a bit orthodox, rightfully so… He is a Punjabi father, and he wanted that we should get married, settle down at 18. That is his conditioning, he is coming from a place where all the women in his house were brought up that way. But my upbringing was very different."
In the same interview, Esha Deol revealed that she was very influenced by Hema Malini's career and wanted to be a heroine like her mom. The actress stated that it took her some time to convince her father, Dharmendra, that she could work in movies, but now it's different. In the same conversation, Esha shared that her grandmom never allowed her to wear short skirts and spaghetti tops, and they were not even allowed to go late at night. Esha remarked that there had been times when she lied to go out late at night. In Esha's words:
"My grandmother was very strict. We were not allowed to wear spaghettis and short skirts and go out. We were not allowed many late nights. There was a phase where I would lie to go out on late nights. I have done all of that. It’s not like I haven’t done that and it used to be fun too."
In an interview with Filmygyan, Esha Deol was asked about her mom's reaction to her wearing a bikini on screen. To this, Esha said that there had been no reaction, as her mom is pretty cool about this, and broad-minded. The actress shared that her mom has not been against the idea of wearing sultry outfits.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Esha Deol said that her father didn't want her to work in films, and this was because he was more protective of a male and he wanted to keep her private. Esha further added that it took time to convince her dad and she was all ready to fly.

Esha got married to Bharat Takhtani back in 2012, and after a few years, they became parents to their daughters, Radhya and Miraya. Well, it was earlier this year, when Esha and Bharat separated for the reason best known to them. In a media statement, they shared the news and asked for privacy while stating that their daughters' well-being would be their utmost priority.
