Everyone's favorite B-town couple and new parents, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, recently revealed their baby girl's name. Well, the internet has been resounding its approval as fans gush over the beautiful meaning behind the name and laud the couple for breaking stereotypes. Yes, fans are in awe of the couple for giving their newborn both Deepika's and Ranveer's surnames.
For the unversed, Ranveer and Deepika's little princess has been named Dua Padukone Singh. Since the news dropped, the internet has been praising the couple for their beautiful decision to let her carry both her mom's and dad's surnames. One The comment also included a salute emoji.

Fans even took it one step further with a theory that Dua's name was an ode to all the women in Deepika's family. One fan posted a picture of Deepika, her mother, Ujjala Padukone, and her sister, Anisha Padukone. The fan then wrote in the post, "Wow, Dua Padukone Singh is actually carrying so many people's legacy."
Another fan then suggested that the tiny tot's name could be honoring the mothers in the Padukone-Singh family. They stated, "It's the 3 mothers- Deepika, Ujjala and Anju." For the uninitiated, Anju Bhavnani is Ranveer Singh's mother.

The feminine name 'Dua' means prayer, thus having a beautiful religious context. In Islam, dua is the act of praying to God. The name also has roots in Albania, where it means 'love.' Research shows that the name has a calm beauty and luck to it.
When Ranveer and Deepika revealed their princess's name to the world, they briefly explained why they chose it as well. Adorably saying that she was the answer to all their prayers, the couple shared a picture of the little one's feet on Instagram. She was dressed in a cute red Anarkali and seemed to be twinning with her mommy, Deepika. They captioned the post:
"Dua Padukone Singh! 'Dua': meaning a Prayer. Because She is the Answer to our Prayers. Our hearts are filled with Love and Gratitude. Deepika and Ranveer."
