Farah Khan is one of the most talented choreographers and filmmakers in the Hindi film industry. The talented artist has delivered some hit films, including Happy New Year, Om Shanti Om, Main Hoon Na among others. In her illustrious career of over three decades, Farah has won about six Filmfare Awards and a National Award. In her personal life, she is married to Shirish Kunder and is blessed with triplets, Diva, Anya and Czar. Farah also has a brother, Sajid Khan, who is a notable filmmaker in the film industry.
In a recent conversation with comedian, Maniesh Paul in his podcast, Farah Khan recalled the difficult times she had to go through post the death of her father, Kamran Khan in her childhood. She recalled how at the time of his death; her father only left behind a sum of Rs. 30 in his pocket, as a result of which she and her brother, Sajid struggled to arrange finances even for his funeral. In her words:
“The night before, he had played taash and the only money he had in his pocket was the Rs 30 he had won from those games. Sajid also shared this story on Bigg Boss, explaining how we had to gather funds from various sources to arrange for our father’s funeral. The irony, however, was the people who had come to play cards that night couldn’t play in the living room, so they moved to the terrace to continue playing.”

In the same conversation, Farah mentioned how she and her brother, Sajid found out a way to deal with their financial instability and the grief of their father’s death at the same time. She mentioned that they started indulging in dark humour, which gave them solace. Mentioning how they began to make fun of the guests who arrived at their father’s funeral, Farah shared:
“About a week or two after our father’s passing, we found solace in dark humour. We began to make fun of the people who came to the funeral noting how some of them appeared very fake and all that was running in their mind was finding a place to play cards. This kind of humour played a crucial role in helping us cope during challenging times. Otherwise, it’s easy to succumb to depression.”
During her appearance on Mika Singh’s show, Swayamvar: Mika Di Voti, Farah Khan had opened up about her marriage experience. She quirkily mentioned how she wished to run away within the first year of her marriage itself, since she found it difficult to adjust to her new life.

In one of her previous conversations with Malaika Arora in her reality show, Moving In With Malaika, Farah Khan had spoken about dealing with hate and taunts she received for marrying her husband, Shirish Kunder, especially due to the age difference of eight years between them. Farah recalled how one of her friends taunted her for marrying a younger man and said that he would attend her second marriage.
