Fardeen Khan Recalls His Father, Late Feroz Khan Gambled His Last Shirt In Making The Film 'Qurbani'

The iconic film, 'Qurbani' completed 42 years of its making, and to mark the day, Fardeen Khan recalled the struggles faced by his late father, Feroz Khan, in making of the film.

Fardeen Khan Recalls His Father, Late Feroz Khan Gambled His Last Shirt In Making The Film 'Qurbani'

Bollywood actor, Fardeen Khan had made his debut in the Bollywood industry with the movie, Prem Aggan in 1998. The actor had soon shot to fame and had become a heartthrob of the nation. However, Fardeen was last seen in the 2010 film, Dulha Mil Gaya, and he has not graced the silver screen for over a decade now. On the personal front, Fardeen had got married to his long-time sweetheart, Natasha Madhwani, on December 14, 2005, and the couple is blessed with two kids, Diani Isabelle Khan and Azarius Fardeen Khan. 

Fardeen Khan's late father, Feroz Khan's film, Qurbani, had got released in 1980. The film starred actors like Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan, Aruna Irani, Amrish Puri, and Kadar Khan and others. Based on the Italian crime action movie, The Master Touch, Qurbani is popular for its iconic songs, Aap Jaisa Koi and Laila O Laila. Now, Fardeen Khan revealed that making the film, Qurbani was not an easy task.

On June 21, 2022, the film, Qurbani clocked in 42 years of making, and late Feroz Khan's son, Fardeen Khan took to his Twitter handle to celebrate the film. The actor reshared a tweet posted by a Bollywood fan page and recalled that his father had gambled his last shirt in making the film. His tweet can be read as:

"42 years since the release of #Qurbani. In FK’s own words, “Son, I had gambled my last shirt making this film. If it hadn’t worked we would’ve been on the street’s”. People 2day aren’t aware of what it took to make a film back then. Literally blood, sweat and tears."

Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Fardeen Khan had opened up about his absence from the movies and had revealed why he had shifted to London with his wife, Natasha. Fardeen had shared that he had gone through a tough phase after the death of his father, Feroz Khan, due to lung cancer in 2009. Sharing that he had given up on films because he was struggling in his personal life, Fardeen had said:

"After my father passed, I needed some time off. I went through a tough time. I had a little bit of a health scare myself in 2009, just a few months after my father passed. Then we were very keen to have a family, Natasha and me. We had challenges in having children, so we had to go the IVF route. We had a bad experience with doctors here in Mumbai. Natasha really suffered because IVF is not easy. It's very hard on your body and on your health."

Before kickstarting his journey in the film industry, Fardeen Khan had once waited tables during his university days. During his appearance on the talk show, Koffee With Karan,  Fardeen had opened up about his experience about the same. When the show's host, Karan Johar had asked him about waiting tables, the Khushi actor had recalled that he used to be on a tight budget and his father, Feroz Khan didn't support him with money. He had said:

"When I was in the university, I used to be on a very tight budget. And father never supported me with money. So I had 100 dollars a week. Pretty much blew it all up in the first couple of weeks and the last couple of weeks, I was flat broke. I had to make some money so worked for a few days."

On the work front, Fardeen Khan is all set to make his comeback in Bollywood with the horror drama, Visfot.
