Javed Akhtar, who is known as one of the finest composers has given some breath-taking songs to Bollywood. He is always known to have created magic on the silver screen with his famous songs and shayaris. From Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga from the film, 1942: A Love Story to Sandese Aate Hain from the movie, Border, Javed ji has given some of the most treasured gems to Bollywood. On January 17, 2020, Bollywood’s ace lyricist-cum-poet-cum-screenwriter turned 75 and he celebrated his special day with his friends and family.
On January 16, 2020, Javed Akhtar hosted a retro-themed birthday bash in Mumbai. Many A-listers of Bollywood marked their presence for the same. Javed ji’s son, Farhan Akhtar and his girlfriend, Shibani Dandekar recreated the song, Khaike Paan Banaraswala from the movie, Don, as they dressed up as Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman. Farhan donned a white shirt and brown trousers and carried a brown half-sleeve jacket on top of it. His girlfriend, Shibani complemented him by donning a pink polka dot shirt, white pants and a white scarf around her neck.
Javed ji and Shabana ji came in polka-dotted red and white attire. Other celebrities, who graced the occasion were Zoya Akhtar, Anil Kapoor and wife, Sunita Kapoor, Amir Khan and wife, Kiran Rao, Urmila Matondkar, Boney Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Satish Kaushik, Richa Chadha and boyfriend, Ali Fazal, Tabu and many more. On January 15, 2020, an exhibition was organised for Javed ji’s 75th birthday and Shibani had attended the event with Farhan, Shabana Azmi, Zoya Akhtar and Javed Akhtar. Farhan had looked dapper in a purple-coloured kurta and white churidar and on the other hand, Shibani had opted for a white-coloured dress with colourful detailing. Despite Shibani’s latest outing with the family and earlier reports about their 2020 wedding, a report by TOI had suggested that the duo has called off their 2020 wedding. As per a TOI report, the duo is in no mood to get married this year. It is being said that they are happy as a couple and are currently focusing on their careers. The reports also said that they have no ‘desired’ need to make their relationship official or legal.
On Farhan's birthday, Shibani had shared a long note for him. She had posted a cute picture with him and had written, "Happy birthday my better half .. thank you for all the magic, laughter and love you have brought to my life. You are one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met and the world really needs more like you! I’ve never met anyone as kind, as attentive, as selfless, as brave and as focused as you. Just being around you has taught me so much ( mainly patience!!) You inspire me! thank you for including me in every part of your life, for making me feel so special and for always making time for ‘us’ !! Having said that you do need to ‘unclench’ a little. be more ‘free-flowing’.
