Farhan Akhtar’s stepmother and much-loved actress, Shabana Azmi recently stepped forward to put the rumours to rest. While speaking to ETimes, she firmly rubbished the claims and said:
"There's no truth to it."
Shabana’s swift and clear response to the abounding speculations settles the matter once and for all. While Farhan and Shibani’s adoring fans might be a tad disappointed, the fact is that the couple is not expecting a baby at this time. The ETimes report further stated that the outlet reached out to Farhan himself for a response as well. However, the actor, who is likely busy enjoying his birthday, has yet to respond.
Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar first sparked dating rumours in 2019, and after going strong for nearly four years, the couple exchanged vows in a Christian ceremony on February 19, 2022. The adorable pair tied the knot in the midst of their loved ones and close friends at Farhan’s Khandala house. And let’s just say the ceremony was all things mesmerising. While Farhan decked up in a black tuxedo suit, Shibani dazzled in a red gown.

Earlier in a candid chat on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, Shibani Dandekar laughed as she revealed that she and Farhan had a couples therapy appointment just two days after their wedding. She recalled the therapist being stunned and asking them why they had even shown up when their wedding happened just 24 hours ago. Shibani could be quoted as saying:
"We got married on a Monday. Our signing was on a Monday and our next scheduled appointment was on a Wednesday. I remember we walked in and our therapist was like ‘Why are you guys here? You just got married like 24 hours ago?'"
However, couples therapy was by no means new to Farhan and Shibani. In the same podcast, Shibani shared that she and Farhan started doing couples therapy either six months before or after their engagement. She added that the decision had never felt forced by one party but rather felt like the smart thing to do. The couple also spoke about the importance of therapy and sticking to it rather than giving up midway during the podcast.
