Popular television actor, Gaurav Chopraa went through a difficult phase in his life when he lost his parents to COVID-19 in a span of ten days. However, his life took a better turn when he and his estranged wife, Hitisha Cheranda were blessed with a baby boy in his family. Currently, the couple is not living together, and their son lives with his mother. Thus, in a recent interview, Gaurav opened up about his challenging phase and how he doesn't get to see his son as much as he wants to.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Gaurav Chopraa opened up about the dark phase in his life upon losing his parents during COVID-19. He also mentioned how the situation took him towards depression, and he did a lot to come out of the grief. Afterwards, he was asked about the challenges of being a single parent. To this, he shared how staying away from his three-year-old son added to all the pain and darkness. Gaurav elaborated:
“The situation is not that… he doesn’t live with me he lives in Bangalore. I don’t get to see him as much as I would like to. But it’s like a threshold point, once you’ve crossed it, once you’ve become a parent, you can’t undo that. Of course, you can become self-centred and live a life where you don’t care about it. Or you can accept the fact that you’ve discovered something special and now you want to be a better person, a better version of yourself.”

In the same conversation, Gaurav shared how embracing fatherhood is beautiful to him. He mentioned how a child's small gestures and features help the parents relive their childhood. Gaurav mentioned:
“I think that everybody should go through this experience of reliving their own childhood, finding out who you were as a boy when you see a little version of yourself in front of you. It’s also beautiful when there are family traits and mannerisms and gestures and features.”
For the uninitiated, Gaurav Chopraa was linked up with many names from the entertainment industry, including Narayani Shashtri and Mouni Roy, among others. However, all linkup rumours were put to an end when Gaurav tied the nuptial knot with Hitisha Cheranda on February 19, 2018. The news of his wedding surprised the entire industry as it was a completely secret affair. Talking about his secret marriage, in a 2018 interview with the Bombay Times, Gaurav had mentioned that he suffered enough to understand that it's better to keep good things private in your life. The actor was also quoted as saying he had never hidden his relationships. However, he was a private person then, and the marriage was purely dedicated to his family. Talking about his estranged wife, he had revealed falling for Hitisha's simplicity.

After being in marital bliss for two long years, Gaurav and Harshita were blessed with a baby boy on September 14, 2020. Taking to his IG handle after becoming a father, Gaurav had shared a heartfelt post on social media to announce the same. Sharing a beautiful picture revealing the gender of his bundle of joy, Gaurav had written:
“19-08-2020 29-08-2020 14-09-2020 Enlightenment in three dates. The meaning of life, explained in this short span of time .. a roller coaster ride, a cycle … never ending…an emotional and physical test .. and then divine intervention and a bountiful blessing today … Between the morning and the afternoon, between two placards on the door .. everything changed! thank you for your love and blessings..it’s been my strength…”
On the work front, Gaurav will be next seen in the drama series, Rana Naidu.
