With the government trying to alert the nation to be careful as the second wave of COVID-19 hits our country, shaking it to its core, looks like some people (read celebrities) have turned tone-deaf. The celebrities are being called off by various netizens and even some of their fellow celebs, for being insensitive or irresponsible towards the seriousness of the pandemic and showing off their privilege by holidaying and travelling amidst the crisis. Shah Rukh Khan's interior designer wife, Gauri Khan and their son, Aryan Khan were brutally trolled on social media and the duo was snapped at the airport on April 21, 2021, by the paparazzi.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan studies at NYU and when the universities have resumed their classes in early 2021, she had jetted off to New York. Last year, before the lockdown was imposed, Suhana had returned to Mumbai to be with her family amidst the pandemic outbreak. Ever since Suhana had touched down in New York City, she has been delighting her fans with breathtakingly beautiful views of and outside her apartment.
Looks like Gauri Khan and Aryan Khan will soon join Suhana Khan in New York as the mother-son duo jetted off to the US on April 21, 2021. While Gauri opted for a printed black lace dress paired with a blazer for her airport look, Aryan kept it casual in a black t-shirt, blue denim jacket and trousers. As soon as the videos and pictures made their way on social media, netizens brutally trolled Gauri and Aryan for leaving the country amidst a crisis and called out the mother-son duo for travelling in the pandemic.

Before Gauri Khan and Aryan Khan, Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor, Pooja Bedi, Tiger-Shroff-Disha Patani, Janhvi Kapoor and a lot of other celebrities were also trolled for being insensitive towards the ground reality of these unpredictable times and being ignorant of the seriousness of the pandemic by posting pictures of their exotic holidays. Sometime back, celebrity manager, Rohini Iyer called out the influencers and celebrities and pointed out their actions to be 'blind and tone-deaf', "For all of you vacationing in Maldives and Goa and exotic locales, remember, it's a holiday for you. It's a bloody pandemic all over. So don't be an insensitive idiot and post pictures of your privileged life. You're not only coming across as brainless but also completely blind and tone deaf."

Reminding them that this is not Fashion Week or Kingfisher calendar time, Rohini Iyer added, "This is not the time to boost your Instagram numbers. This is the time to step up and help or if you can't do anything, then shut up and stay home! Or stay quiet in your holiday home.. masked up. No photos. This is not Fashion Week or Kingfisher calendar time!" Indian columnist, Shobhaa De reposted Rohini's post and wrote, "Hello!!! Listen up! Loved this post passionately articulated by Rohini Iyer. Wanted to share it here, and I am not good with techno stuff - Repost etc. Okay? Idea is to get her message across. Well said @rohiniiyer. It is the height of vulgarity to flaunt those ridiculous pictures. Enjoy Maldives by all means. You are blessed if you can get such a break in these bleak times. But do everyone a favour... keep it private. @rohiniyer."
Last year, during the tough times faced by our nation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan had stepped forward to contribute to help better the lives of the people affected by the virus. Announcing how his business ventures, Kolkata Knight Riders, Red Chillies Entertainment, Meer Foundation and Red Chillies VFX, will support the government during the pandemic, Shah Rukh had written, "In these times it's imp to make everyone around u working tirelessly for u.. not related to u.. perhaps even unknown to u... to feel they are not alone and by themselves. Let's just make sure we all do our little bit to look after each other. India and all Indians are One Family. Stay Safe Stay Healthy and don’t forget to pray." Shah Rukh and Gauri had also offered their officed to be turned into quarantine facilities in Mumbai. Acknowledging the couple, BMC had tweeted, "Stronger together. We thank Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan for offering their 4-storey personal office space to help expand our quarantine capacity equipped with essentials for quarantined children, women and elderly.
