For the unversed, Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra are soon going to be parents for the second time. To announce their pregnancy on March 14, 2021, Geeta Basra had posted pictures with Harbhajan Singh and their little one, Hinaya on her social media handle, in which the family of three had twinned in denim. Geeta had captioned her post as "Coming soon… July 2021", followed by a heart emoticon.
In an interview with ETimes, Geeta Basra talked about her acting career in Bollywood and revealed how she was written off as a married woman by the industry at the time when she and Harbhajan Singh were just good friends. Recalling the same, Geeta said, "My debut film released when I was 22, but as soon as that happened, rumours of my impending wedding with Harbhajan had started doing the rounds."
Going further in her interview, Geeta Basra also added that she was all alone in the industry at that time, and also no one was interested in listening to her side of the story. She added, "Though we got married eight years later, everyone just assumed that we will be getting married soon. I didn't have anyone to defend me or take my side. It's funny because back then we were actually just friends. I lost four big films because the makers just assumed that I wasn't interested in working anymore."

The actress also opened up about the industry's reaction to the reports about her marriage with her now-husband-then-friend, Harbhajan Singh and added how it had impacted her career severely in a bad way. Geeta Basra also stated that she would've achieved greater heights in her career if it wasn't for her false marriage reports. She explained, "I was actually asked why would I want to work anymore. Even before my career could take off, I was written off as a married woman. I did a few films after that, but I don't think I achieved what I felt I could have. I had to constantly defend myself but no one paid heed."
When Geeta Basra was asked about her second pregnancy and how it is different from her first one, the actress answered it by highlighting the impact of Coronavirus in her life and how difficult it is for her. She said, "The times are completely different; you can't compare the two pregnancies. Now, I can't go out and meet my friends, nor can I see my family in London; my mum can't fly down here to be with me. It is a very difficult time for everyone, but especially for pregnant women because we are already dealing with so many changes internally."
