Gippy Grewal Shares How He Nearly Made Salman Khan Upset, Diljit Dosanjh Intervened, 'Paji Bade..'

Gippy Grewal is one of the most recognised personalities in Hindi and Punjabi cinema. His acting skills, soulful voice, and successful films have gained him a huge fan following. Despite coming from a simple background, he made it big with hard work and dedication. He began his career in 2000s and hasn't looked back since then. Over the years, Gippy Grewal has interacted with several successful actors, including Salman Khan. In a new interview, Gippy recalled how he once almost upset the bhaijaan of Bollywood until Diljit Dosanjh stepped in to manage the issue. 

Gippy Grewal recalls how he came close to upsetting Salman Khan during his first meeting with him 

Gippy Grewal recently appeared on a YouTube video of Mashable India, wherein he recalled his first meeting with superstar, Salman Khan. Gippy shared that he complimented Salman Khan on his physique when he met him during the shoot of his popular song, Character Dheela, in Salman's 2011 film, Ready. The Punjabi superstar shared that he couldn't speak Hindi fluently and was nervous about meeting Salman. He recalled the compliment and mentioned it was: 

“Paji badey dole shole banaye” 

When Salman Khan heard the comment, he became confused. So, Diljit Dosanjh, who was also present at the same set, recognised the discomfort and suggested Gippy avoid such compliments to the Tiger 3 star, who may get angry over it. Gippy revealed Diljit told him: 

"Diljit told me don't say this, he will get angry."

After the incident, Salman Khan, Gippy Grewal and Diljit Dosanjh share a cordial bond. Moreover, a few months ago, Salman Khan even graced the trailer launch of Gippy's Punjabi film, Maujaan Hi Maujaan. Salman supported Gippy, and they posed together for photos in front of the paparazzi. 

Gippy Grewal previously denied his friendship with Salman Khan 

Despite sharing a cordial bond, Gippy earlier shared he is not friends with Salman Khan. In 2023, a few bullet shots were fired outside Gippy Grewal's Vancouver house, and Lawrence Bishnoi took its responsibility. The latter mentioned he did that because Gippy is friends with Salman Khan. In a later interview with News18, Gippy clarified that he had only met Salman Khan twice and that Salman's presence at his film's event was due to his bond with the film's producer. He went on to add that he shares no friendship with Salman Khan. In his words: 

"The producer, who backed the film (Maujaan Hi Maujaan) invited Salman to the trailer launch. I met him there. Before that, I met him on the sets of Bigg Boss. I have no friendship with Salman Khan and the anger of it is being taken out on me. For me, it is still shocking and I am unable to process what has happened to me."

Salman Khan's professional front 

On the work front, Salman Khan was last seen in Tiger 3, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. The superstar has begun shooting the promo for Bigg Boss 18. At the same time, he is busy filming his next film, Sikander, directed by AR Murugadoss, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Prateik Babbar, and Sathyaraj in important roles.
