Mannat – For some, this word reminds them of the wish and yearning for something or someone. No matter how many times we get sneak-peeks into Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Mannat, every glimpse makes us excited. Last year, during the lockdown, Gauri had posted some glimpses of the acrylic artwork she was working on as decor pieces for her interior designing projects and we had also gotten a glimpse of her workspace at Mannat. Gauri's workspace had a stunning view of the sea. She had captioned her posts as "Using my time in quarantine to work on my next projects. Creativity can be quite therapeutic. Here’s some abstract art... Acrylic on canvas. #GauriKhanDesigns." It had definitely made us go green with envy as while she had enjoyed a ‘room with a view’, we were stuck with a blank wall as our WFH view!
Back in 2019, Gauri Khan had given a never-seen-before peek inside her home, Mannat to Vogue and now, in a picture shared by the fashion and lifestyle magazine, we got a glimpse of one of the luxurious bathrooms of their home. With the glossy black-and-white marble floors and, mirror and glass detailing, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri’s bathroom has modern furnishings which also includes a state-of-the-art shower encased in a glass cubicle. It also has a zebra-print ghost chair sourced from Paris Design Week.
Shah Rukh Khan and his interior-designer wife, Gauri Khan are not only the proud owners of a six-storey 26,328 square foot home, Mannat in Mumbai and a villa in Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, UAE but also a beautiful house nestled in the elegant South Delhi neighbourhood of Panchsheel Park. Gauri had redesigned their Delhi home and filled it with love and moments of nostalgia. Sometime back, Shah Rukh had posted an IG story, revealing his favourite corner in the home and what he calls it. Sharing a picture of the wall in their master bedroom, Shah Rukh had written, "My favourite corner of my Delhi home - our very own Nostalgia wall" atop it. It was a few years back when Gauri Khan had launched her studio, Gauri Khan Designs in Juhu, Mumbai. In the 'About' section of her GKD website, Gauri had revealed how she had turned her hobby into a life-long, fulfilling profession. Gauri had written, "It began at home, like it does with all great things. I was redecorating my own home, and other related projects, when people started approaching me to design their properties as well. I took the plunge as a hobby, and before I knew it, it turned into a life-long, fulfilling profession for me. Gauri Khan Designs has been the culmination of a long-standing passion for Interior Design. It came together in less than three months, and it has now been an exciting six years since I undertook this journey."
Despite his hectic schedule, Shah Rukh Khan always scoops out some time to interact with his fans on social media. During one such 'Ask SRK' session on Twitter, a user asked him if he plans to sell Mannat, "Bhai Mannat bechne wale ho kya?" In an epic response, Shah Rukh had tweeted, "Bhai Mannat bikti nahi sar jhuka kar maangi jaati hai....Yaad rakhoge toh life mein kuch paa sakogay.” In another session, Shah Rukh was asked how much would a room in Mannat cost on rent. To this, King Khan had replied, "30 saal ki mehnat mein padega." *Mic drop* (Also Read: AR Rahman Owns Multi-Crore Properties, Know All About His Luxurious Homes From Chennai To LA)
