Govinda Discharged From Hospital After Gun Misfire, Addresses Media In Wheelchair With Plastered Leg

Actor Govinda was preparing to leave for Kolkata when an unexpected incident occurred. In the early hours of October 1, 2024, he was checking and cleaning his licensed revolver, which was unlocked at that time, at his residence in Mumbai. Unfortunately, the revolver slipped from his hand and misfired, causing an accidental bullet injury to his leg. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Govinda gets discharged from hospital

After three days of treatment, actor Govinda was finally discharged from the hospital. The actor's wife, Sunita Ahuja, and daughter, Tina, accompanied him. The actor came out of the hospital, sitting on a wheelchair as his right leg was plastered. For the day, Govinda was dressed in dark blue-hued shirt paired with black trousers and black slippers.

Govinda looked relieved and happy as he greeted the paparazzi with joined hands. Doctors, fans, and well-wishers were present with him at the time of his exit, and the actor looked happy as he merrily chanted God's name with the shutterbugs. Sunita Ahuja escorted him to the car. She opted for a simple pink-hued salwar suit set for the same and was seen carrying all his medical documents.

Govinda’s manager talked about the actor's accidental firing

After the misfire incident, Govinda’s manager talked to the media and revealed that the actor was putting his licensed gun back into the cupboard after cleaning it when he accidentally dropped it, causing the gun to fire as it was not locked. The actor immediately called his wife, Sunita, and his manager. As Govinda had planned to fly to Kolkata for a show, his manager was already at the airport when he received the call. The actor was immediately rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.

Govinda releases an audio message after his surgery

Govinda had to undergo surgery for the misfire; after the successful surgery, Govinda released a voice note in which he thanked his fans for their concern and prayers. The actor also shared an update on his health and revealed that the bullet was operated out from his knee. In his audio message, Govinda said:

“Namahskaar, pranaam, Main Hoon Govinda. Aap sab logon ka aashirwaad aur maa Baap ka aashirwaad hai aur Guru ki Krupa ke wajah se… mujhe jo goli lagi thi, who nikaal di gayee hai. Main dhanyawad deta hoon yahaan ke doctor kaa …aadarniya doctor Agarwaal ji kaa aur aap sab logon ki praartahana jo hai… aap logon ka dhanyawaad”
