Guru Randhawa is all set to make his much-awaited acting debut with the film, Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay, opposite Mahesh Manjrekar's daughter, Saiee Manjrekar. The film is directed by renowned filmmaker, G. Ashok, who has been the man behind movies like Ushodayam, Aakasa Ramanna, Pilla Zamindar, Sukumarudu, Chitrangada, and Bhaagamathie.
Guru Randhawa is currently busy doing promotions for his upcoming film, Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay, and in a recent interview, the singer admitted that he is quite excited about his acting debut in Bollywood. In his heart-to-heart conversation with the Indian Express, Guru Randhawa also talked about his journey as a singer, which started at the mere age of nine.

The singer admitted that his parents always wanted to see him on television and also encouraged him to sing at weddings. Guru Randhawa shared how he was making money out of singing when he was in class 3 or 4. He further added that he used to earn around Rs. 100 to Rs. 150 from his singing at weddings. Guru Randhawa further revealed that he knew he only wanted to be a singer by the time he was in his late teenage years. He said:
"My parents always wanted to see me on TV. They used to make me sing at every wedding. I used to sing at all the weddings in my village and would manage to earn around Rs 100- 150. Someone used to give me Rs 10, someone would give me Rs 20, matlab tabh se kamaai kar raha hoon main, I was in Class 3 or 4 when I started."
Further, in the same interview, Guru Randhawa revealed the exact date when he appeared on television for the first time, which was March 3, 2013. Sharing how it was one of the proudest moments of his life, the ace singer added that he went to his hometown and sat down with all the people of his village. Guru Randhawa admitted that it was an emotional moment for him as everyone in the village was proud of him. He said:
"I remember it was March 3, 2013 that I finally appeared on a Punjabi TV channel and I sat with everyone in the village and watched myself on TV. I can't forget how proud they were of me, I felt proud."

In the same interview, Guru Randhawa admitted that he likes actors who are natural on the screen instead of doing acting. He also named a series of Bollywood actors who act naturally on the big screen. The singer mentioned and praised the likes of Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. Sharing how they all inspire him, the Punjabi singer admitted that he had done his best to do natural acting in his debut film, Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay.
"Jaise Irrfan sir, Nawazuddin sir, jaise Anupam sir, Akshay is Special 26, like Shah Rukh sir in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Salman sir in Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijan, Aamir sir in Dangal… so I feel when you are not acting, that's when you are acting. Inspired by them I have also done something like that in Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay. I have tried not to act but be a natural."
Guru Randhawa's film, Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay, is being released today in theatres nationwide.
