The vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, Hardik Pandya is one of the best all-rounders in the world. The 29-year-old right-handed batsman, who can also do wonders with his right-arm fast-medium bowling, is indeed a danger for the opposition. Apart from playing match-winning innings for the Indian cricket team in all three formats for some years now, Hardik is playing for Gujarat Titans in the IPL (Indian Premier League).
However, not everyone knows that before playing for Gujarat, he was a crucial player for Mumbai Indians. From making his IPL debut with Mumbai Razors back in 2015 to being released by the team in IPL 2022, Hardik will always be remembered as one of the best players ever to play for the Blues of Mumbai. However, after coming into Gujarat Titans, Hardik was named as the team’s captain. The cricketer returned the faith put in his abilities after he led Gujarat Titans to their first-ever IPL trophy in 2022.

During his stint with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL (Indian Premier League), Hardik Pandya developed a beautiful bond with the team’s owners, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani. We have repeatedly seen Hardik thanking the Ambanis for showing their faith in him and always giving him a chance to shine on the biggest stage. The cricketer won five IPL trophies during his time at the Mumbai Indians, and it was indeed a beautiful phase of Hardik’s cricketing career.
However, just when everything was going great for the all-rounder, it was on January 16, 2021, when Hardik Pandya’s father, Himanshu Pandya passed away. It was an incredibly tough moment for Hardik Pandya and his family, as, just like everyone, he was the backbone of the Pandya clan. The cricketer’s doting father passed away due to cardiac arrest, and it broke down Hardik completely. During the heartbreaking phase, Hardik and his cricketer-brother, Krunal Pandya, received letters from Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani.

In an interview with ESPNcrickinfo, Hardik Pandya opened up about the touching letter that he received from the owners of his team, Mumbai Indians. The cricketer admitted that it was an extremely touching gesture from Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani towards him and his family. Hardik shared how the condolences penned in the letter made him emotional, and he burst out in tears.
"Mumbai Indians have stood by me during my lows and highs. Recently when my dad passed away (In January 2021), Krunal and I got a letter from Mukesh Sir and Nita Ma'am, giving their condolences. For us it was very emotional. I started crying."
Further, in the same interview, Hardik Pandya was also asked to shed some light on his bond with Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s elder son, Akash Ambani. Answering this, the cricketer, who spent his time playing for the Mumbai Indians and admitted that the way Akash had treated him, it never felt like he was the owner of his team. Hardik praised Akash for always supporting him and providing him with much-needed motivation during his low phases. Opening up about his bond with Akash Ambani, Hardik said:
"Aakash Ambani has been a tremendous friend. I never get the feeling that he is the owner of our team and he is our boss. He has always given me added motivation and has always supported me."
