Hasan Minhaj is one of the most-loved comedians in the United States of America. The ace comedian's comedy revolves around politics, news satire, observational comedy, sarcasm, surreal horror, and dark comedy. It was back in 2017 when he made his acting debut in the black comedy film, Rough Night, in which Hasan played a character named, 'Joe'. Hasan Minhaj was born in Davis, California, on September 23, 1985. However, not everyone is aware of the fact that his Muslim parents, Najme Minhaj and Seema Minhaj were from India. Hasan's parents used to live in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh and immigrated to the US in search of better opportunities. While his father worked as an organic chemist, Hasan's mother also worked in the medical sector. Talking about Hasan's educational background, he completed his schooling from Davis Senior High School and attained a bachelor's degree in arts and politics.
According to multiple reports, Hasan Minhaj decided to become a comedian after he watched ace comedian and actor, Chris Rock's television special, Never Scared. It was the first stand-up special Hasan had watched in his life, and it instantly made him fall in love with the art of comedy. In 2008, he participated in Wild 94.9's Best Comic Standing competition and won it. In the following years, he worked in the opening act for Katt Williams, performed on NBC's Stand-up for Diversity, was cast in MTV's Failosophy, and debuted off-broadway in October 2015 with his one-man show, Homecoming.
The popular comedian, Hasan Minhaj is married to his college sweetheart, Beena Patel. For the uninitiated, Hasan and Beena got married back in January 2015 and started living in New York City's Hell's Kitchen neighbourhood. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic, they moved to Greenwich, Connecticut. Some years after their wedding, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in April 2018. In March 2020, Hasan and Beena welcomed their second child, a baby boy. The couple has not disclosed their kids' names and never shares pictures in which their faces are clearly visible.

Talking about the background of Hasan Minhaj's wife, Beena Patel, she is a public health doctor by profession. She holds a DrPH degree from UCLA and is also the executive director of the Vituity Cares Foundation. Just like her husband, Hasan Minhaj, Beena Patel is also a second-generation Indian American.
Beena Patel is a Hindu of Gujarati descent. Talking about Hasan and Beena's love story, the couple met when they were studying at UC Davis and instantly fell in love with each other. In an interview with Netflix, Hasan revealed that he proposed to Beena with an engagement diamond without a ring. Despite this, Beena accepted his wedding proposal with open arms and got married in January 2015.
It was in 2021 when Hasan Minhaj opened up about having fertility issues and openly shared that he struggled to start a family with his wife, Beena Patel. The comedian received appreciation for opening up about it in public and inspiring others to talk about such issues. Hasan Minhaj revealed that he had undergone a varicocele repair surgery to fix an issue related to his sperm count and blood. He added that doctors had clearly told him that if he didn't get this surgery done, he wouldn't be able to have babies.
The American comedian, Hasan Minhaj wasted no time, and the couple conceived their son six weeks after the successful surgery. Time and again, we have seen Hasan crediting his wife for always supporting him both in his professional and personal hiccups.
