Dharmendra and Hema Malini's daughter, Esha Deol, is all set to make a comeback on the big screen. The moment is extra special as Esha will fulfill her mother, Hema's dream, as the latter always wanted to play the role of her idol, Vyjayanthimala, in films. Now, Esha is portraying a character based on Vyjayanthimala in Prerna Arora's upcoming film, Hero Heeroine, which will be directed by veteran Tamil director, Suresh Krisshna.
According to a report by Zoom TV, it is mentioned that Esha Deol is fulfilling her mother's dream by playing the role of Vyjayanthimala in her next project. A source close to the actress revealed that Esha will take tips from Hema on how to play the character convincingly. In her words:

"Esha not only plays Vyjayanthimala, she is also named Vyjayanthi in Hero Heeroine. Since Esha's mother Hemaji is such a fan of Vyjayanthimala, Esha will take tips from her on how to play Vyjayanthimala convincingly."

Hero Heeroine is based on the complex dynamics of love and will feature the lives of screen legends. While Esha will play 'Vyjayanthi', Soni Razdan will reportedly play an actress modelled on Madhubala. In an earlier interview with Zoom, Esha revealed why she chose to do Hero Heeroine and said:
"The producer Prerna Arora and I have been in talks for another project, which is under wraps and will be announced soon, so that's when she offered me this film. I took the narration from the director (Suresh Krishna). I felt it was a beautiful story to do."
As soon as the news of Esha Deol's comeback surfaced online, netizens were quick to react to it. They expressed their unfiltered opinion of the actress fulfilling her mother's dream after years. A user penned, "I hope she dissolves the ridiculous fillers so she can emote properly." Another netizen commented, "All the men in Deol family made a comeback last year. Toh ab Esha bhi karegi. Meanwhile, in her personal life, Esha Deol got separated from her husband, Bharat Takhtani, leaving the entire nation shocked by announcing the news of them parting ways. There were rumours of their separation in the media after Bharat missed Hema Malini’s 75th birthday celebrations, and the two completely stopped making any public appearances together. Finally, on February 6, 2024, Esha and Bharat shared a joint statement via the Delhi Times to publicly announce their divorce.

Esha Deol made her debut with the film, Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe, in 2002, for which she subsequently bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Later, she became a part of some of the most successful films, including Dhoom, Dus, No Entry, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, LOC: Kargil and many others. However, the actress failed to leave an indelible mark in the film industry.
