Just how we have seen them reigning the silver screens, we get excited about their kids making their own place in the Bollywood. The debate of nepotism is never-ending in any field of profession, and B-town is no different. While some star-kids dream of making it big in the industry like their super-star parents, some prefer to stay away from the limelight. And it is not always that the parents are in favour of their kids joining the industry, given the uncertainty of the stardom and the trolls they will have to face. The situation in the Deol family was no different. (Also Read: Kareena Kapoor Khan Catches-Up With Malaika And Amrita Arora On Video Call Ongoing COVID-19 Lockdown)
Hema Malini became the Dream Girl of B-town in the 70s and Dharmendra is the He-Man of Bollywood. Married for over four decades, Hema Malini and Dharmendra are proud parents of two daughters, Esha Deol Takhtani and Ahana Deol. While Ahana preferred to stay away from the showbiz and media glare, Esha had created her own niche in the industry with a share of ups and downs. But it was her father, Dharmendra, who was against her entering the world of showbiz.

Hema Malini and Esha Deol Takhtani appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show to promote her book, Amma Mia, which is all set to launch on March 23, 2020. On the show, Hema Malini revealed that Dharmendra was against Esha’s decision of becoming an actor. Hema ji shared, "Esha was interested in extra curricular activities such as sports and dance. Like in our house, we used to do dance practice because of which she started liking it and wanted to be a professional dancer and even make her career in Bollywood. However, Dharamji didn’t like her daughter dancing or making her Bollywood debut and he had an objection to that."
Revealing what made him change his mind and accept Esha Deol’s dancing and her dream of becoming an actor, Hema Malini continued, "Later when Dharamji got to know the type of Nritya (dance) which I do and how people appreciated me and my work, which fortunately made him change his mind and then he accepted his daughters dancing and also Esha’s Bollywood debut." While Hema Malini revealed how her husband, Dharmendra was initially against his daughter’s decision of joining Bollywood, Esha Deol Takhtani talked about an interesting similarity between her and her mother. When the host of the show, Kapil Sharma had asked Esha to confirm a rumour which states that one of her friends used to talk in her voice to her hubby, Bharat Takhtani over call, Esha had admitted, “Meri ek friend hai jo bilkul mere jaise sound karti hai toh main kabhi kabhi bore ho jaati thi toh vo continue karti thi baatein karna.”

Revealing how she and her mother, Hema Malini share the same trait of not being able to talk for long on-call, Esha Deol Takhtani had continued, “I can’t talk for more than two minutes. Mumma aur main is mein bilkul same hai. I am like jaldi jaldi baat kar ke hang up karo. In fact, mom ka ek story hai jahan pe mummy baat kar rahi thi papa se aur baat kar rahe the, kar rahe the… aur achanak papa ko phone pe mummy ke kharratte sunayi diye.” It left everyone laughing. Defending herself, Hema added, “Nahi nahi. Dekhiye kya hua tha I was working for a very long time, raat bhar shooting thi. So, I think I was too tired. So, pyaar bhari baatein bhi ek certain limit tak achha lagta hai.”
Sometime back, an unseen video from Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani’s wedding had emerged on the social media. We got a glimpse of Esha’s vidaai, wherein we can see an emotional Deol family and an inconsolable Dharmendra. Speaking about his jaan, Esha ahead of her vidaai, the doting father had said, “Esha meri jaan hai, meri bahaut pyaari beti hai. Betiyank badi hoti hai to unke liye fikr badhti hai ki achha ladka dhundha jaaye toh humein accha ladka mil gaya. Ab shaadi ho gayi hai ab vidai ho jayegi toh lagta hai ki paal pos ke bada karte hai fir ek din paraye ghar chali jaati hai.” (Also Read: Amitabh Bachchan Reveals The Song Which His Mother, Teji Bachchan Used To Sing When He Was A Child)
