Veteran actress, Hema Malini aka Bollywood’s ‘Dream Girl’ is undoubtedly one of the most evergreen divas in the Hindi film industry. For some time now, Hema's husband, Dharmendra has been in the news for his passionate kiss with actress, Shabana Azmi, in the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. On the other hand, Hema Malini, who was last seen in the 2020 film, Shimla Mirchi, talked about making her comeback to films.
In an interview with Times Now, Hema Malini opened up about making a comeback in films and shared that she is ready. However, the actress-turned-politician also mentioned that the role assigned to her should be appropriate for her age and added that even if the role is glamorous, it should be befitting her age. In Hema's words:

“Somebody should come and sign me up with a good role. It should be appropriate for my age. It can be glamorous but befitting my age."

Hema Malini added that she can do any kind of role, but she does not like doing negative kind of roles in films. Stating the reason behind the same, she shared that she is not a negative person in real life so she can't think bad for anybody. The actress added:
“I do not want to do a negative role. I am not a negative person at all. I cannot think of myself like that. I do not think bad for anybody so how can I do a negative role. I mean, role toh kar sakte hai kuch bhi, but wesa role nahin karna. The role has to be positive and should have a positive message."
In an interview with Zoom Digital, Hema Malini was asked about her thoughts on the kissing scene between her husband, Dharmendra and actress, Shabana Azmi in the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Responding to the same, she said that she has not seen the movie yet, but she is happy that people have loved Dharmendra in the film. Hema further continued that Dharmendra often sits at home and watches his old videos in his leisure time. Adding that the actor often asks her about his looks, Hema said:
"I have not seen it. I am sure people have loved him in the film. I am so happy for Dharam ji, because he loves to be in front of the camera, all the time. He cannot live without it. Ghar mein bhi baithke, woh apni purani video dekhenge aur poochenge, 'Main kaisa lag raha hoon?'"

In an interview with Lehren Retro, Hema Malini opened up about signing the film, Baghban, opposite Amitabh Bachchan, which went on to become a box-office success. Talking about the same, the actress said that she wasn't initially convinced to play a ‘mother of four’ in the family drama. She recalled that when the director, Ravi Chopra, told her the storyline of the film, she immediately made up her mind that she would not sign the film. However, as soon as Ravi left, Hema turned to her mother, Jaya Chakravarthy, and told her that she couldn't do the role as she was making a comeback after a sabbatical. But the actress' mother convinced her to sign the film and told her that the story was very good and the role was very nice.
