Shreya Ghoshal is a force to reckon in the music industry of our country. She enjoys a massive fan following, not just in India but also internationally, for creating some of the most melodious renditions even today. Shreya started her journey in playback music when she grabbed the attention of filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, during her stint in the reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. He then roped in for her first commercial stint of playback singing for the film, Devdas. Cut to now, Shreya has recorded countless songs and has several compositions to her name. She is no doubt the A-listed choice of music directors unanimously. Not just Hindi, she has simultaneously sung songs in other regional languages, including Bengali, Telegu, Marathi, among others.

Additionally, the talented artist charges a whopping Rs. 25 lakhs per song that she signs.

Back in October 2023, Shreya Ghoshal made the nation proud as she bagged another prestigious national award, this marking the fifth one she earned in her career. As she received the award for the Best Playback Singer Female, Shreya looked effervescent in a red silk saree, teamed with a matching blouse. Taking to her social media handle later on, Shreya dropped a precious glimpse of her winning moment and expressed her heartfelt gratitude. She wrote:
"God has been very kind to me.. Received the national award from the Honourable President Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji today. Grateful for this honour.."
Earlier, in a press conference, Shreya Ghoshal had opened up about how several new generation singers try to imitate her style of singing in their endeavours. She remarked not being sceptical about such a gesture, and is instead more than happy for them, if they end up bringing something new to the table in the manner. Expressing how she herself has never fretted away from congratulating newer talents for their performances, Shreya said:
“That’s fine as long as we are making good music. I have always given my heartfelt encouragement to new artists. At times, if I hear a song and if I have access to the artiste, I pick up my phone and make it a point to appreciate him or her. Sunidhi Chauhan and I have done that quite a few times. I am fine with people taking inspiration from me as long as eventually they find their own voice.”

While her musical melody needs no introduction and her infectious personality never fails to put up a smile on everyone’s faces, it is Shreya Ghoshal’s personal life which tends to stay away from the media glare. The singing sensation is married to Shiladitya Mukhopadhyay, whom she had dated for nine years, before tying the knot in February 2015. The couple is blessed with a son, Devyaan, who was born in 2021.
