Hina Khan rose to meteoric fame after she played the role 'Akshara' in the popular television series, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. After being in the show for seven long years, she decided to quit it and venture into a new journey in her career. She has also acted in films apart from doing serials and reality shows. However, the 36-year-old shocked everyone when she revealed that she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.
Despite several challenges and difficulties, Hina has decided to brave through this journey and lead a normal life. On August 24, 2024, the actress took to her Instagram account to commemorate her mother's birthday. In the video, Hina's mother, who was wearing a green printed salwar suit, was heard praying for her daughter's recovery and well-being as she proceeded to cut her birthday cake.

Further, in the video, Hina was seen flaunting her brightest smile on this special occasion and hugging her mother as she posed alongside her. Meanwhile, the actress gave a glimpse of her mom's birthday cake and bouquet of flowers. Sharing the reel with the background song, Mumma, Hina penned a note for her mother, which can be read as:
"Maa, Wishing you good health, happiness and a long long life..Ameen, Dua #HappyBirthdayMaa."

On July 13, 2024, Hina once again took to her Instagram account to share an anecdote from her cancer journey. She had penned a note and posted a few pictures with her mother. In the note, she revealed that the pictures were taken on the same day she informed her mother about her diagnosis.

The actress further mentioned that even though her mother crumbled after hearing the shocking news about her cancer diagnosis, the latter found courage and held Hina in her arms, providing her with the strength she needed to fight back the disease. Sharing that a mother's heart can consume an ocean of sorrow for her children, Hina penned:
"A mother’s heart can consume an Ocean of Sorrow and Pain to provide Shelter, love and comfort to her children. This was the day she received the news of my diagnosis, the shock that she felt was inexplicable, but she found a way to hold me and forget her pain. A Superpower in which Mothers excel always. Even her world was crumbling down yet she found a way to shelter me in her arms and give me strength."
On June 28, 2024, Hina Khan put a full stop to all the speculations when she publicly confirmed the news of her cancer diagnosis and shared that she was undergoing treatment for stage three breast cancer. This came after reports surfaced in the media claiming the same. She shared an image post and disclosed that her treatment has begun, and she's trying to stay strong.
In another of her posts, Hina revealed that she was at an award ceremony when she got to know about her cancer diagnosis. The same day, after attending the event, she headed to the hospital for her first chemotherapy session. In a note, the actress mentioned that she consciously made a choice to normalise this, and she took this as an opportunity to reinvent herself.
