Hrithik Roshan, the 'Greek God' of Bollywood, never skips a chance to win the hearts of the cine lovers. The actor first appeared in several films as a child artist and then worked as an assistant director for his dad, Rakesh Roshan, for four years. He first worked in the leading role in his dad's movie, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, which proved to be a major success at the box office. However, did you know that Hrithik almost drowned during the shoot of the same movie? Yes! You read it right. Hrithik once talked about the same.
Hrithik Roshan's movie, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai has a separate fanbase. In this movie, the actor played the dual roles of 'Rohit' and 'Raj'. However, the movie portrayed an underwater sequence, when 'Rohit' meets with a bike accident and falls off into the sea, which causes his death. During an old interview on BBC, Hrithik Roshan was asked by the host, Karan Thapar if it was the actor or any stuntman who performed that particular underwater scene.

To this, Hrithik added that he did the entire shoot, and for the same, he had to sit for three hours in a 45-feet deep sea. The actor also mentioned that he almost drowned during the shooting, but it was actually fun as everything worked out well after the movie was released. Hrithik could be quoted as saying:
"That was me, it was me yeah, 45 feet (underwater) I think, if I can get, yeah 45 feet underwater and sitting for three hours. I almost drowned. It was fun because it looked great. So, everything that you know works out for film is worth it."
In an interview with BBC, Hrithik Roshan revealed that his father, Rakesh Roshan took a huge financial risk to launch him. He said that the budget of Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai was almost Rs. 3 crore, and for the same, their house and car were mortgaged. The actor stated that the first time his dad did a similar kind of thing was when he made his first film, Khudgarz, his in-house production, and the same risk he had taken to launch his son, and both times, it worked out.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Ameesha Patel mentioned that everyone was against the launch of the film, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, and nobody had faith in Hirthik as around that time, Abhishek Bachchan was launched. The actress also revealed that Rakesh Roshan was even asked to change the release date of the movie, as they had SRK-starrer, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Aamir Khan's Mela before and after them. Ameesha mentioned that people believe that newcomers like her and Hirthik wouldn't be able to do anything, but Rakesh Roshan said he had faith in his movie and he wouldn't change its date.
