Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal took their seven-year-long relationship to the next level on June 23, 2024. The two registered their marriage at the actress’ home in the presence of both their families and friends. For the ceremony, Sonakshi wore her mother, Poonam Sinha’s chikankari saree. Meanwhile, Zaheer complemented his wife in a white kurta pyjama. The couple confirmed their marriage by sharing the first official pictures in a collaborative Instagram post. Many celebrities shared the post to congratulate the couple on their new beginning.
On June 24, 2024, Sonakshi and Zaheer’s good friend, Huma Qureshi took to her Instagram account and shared an unseen glimpse of the newlywed couple from their civil marriage ceremony. In the picture, Sonakshi and Zaheer embraced each other and looked completely lost in love. Sharing this lovely picture of the couple, Huma penned a caption talking about their unique love story, which can be read:
“Two most different personalities … two unique souls …. But … together you fit perfectly. I’m so blessed to have witnessed this beautiful mad passionate love story.. my friends are now husband and wife.”

Sonakshi took notice of her friend’s heartfelt congratulatory post, and she responded with, “Loveeee you baby,” followed by three red heart emojis. Meanwhile, another friend of Sonakshi and Zaheer asked Huma, “Di’s you cry while typing this? Husband and wife Sona and Zaheer.” The actress replied, “Fully.”
When reports of Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding surfaced on the media, Shatrughan Sinha’s statement that he was waiting for his daughter to confirm her wedding, was taken in a wrong context. This made people believe that there must be a rift between Sonakshi and her family about her marriage. Later, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha quashed all such baseless rumours by attending their daughter’s wedding.
In some of the glimpses, the bride’s parents were seen leaving their home, Ramayana, decked up in their respective traditional attires for Sonakshi’s civil marriage ceremony. In several paparazzi videos, the veteran actor-turned-politician, Shatrughan Sinha was spotted leaving his home wearing a blue sherwani paired with a multi-colour doshala. Meanwhile, the bride’s mother, Poonam Sinha, left her residence for the wedding in a gorgeous pink suit. She paired her suit with a pretty pair of earrings and wore her signature red bindi to complete her look for her daughter’s big day.

In another video, Sonakshi was seen standing alongside her parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, when her now-husband, Zaheer, touched their feet to seek blessing for their new journey. The bride's teary-eyed parents gave their love-filled blessing to their damaad. Afterwards, Sonakshi adorably hugged her husband.
