Imran Khan is one of the most talented actors in the Hindi film industry. The actor never leaves a chance to win the hearts of her fans with his jaw-dropping acting skills. Imran made his debut in Bollywood with the movie, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, and with the same, he instantly carved a special space in the hearts of his fans. Talking about his personal life, Imran was married to Avantika Malik for eight years before they called it quits. The duo also has a daughter, Imara, whom they co-parent. After parting ways with Avantika, Imran found love in the arms of Lekha Washington. The actor kept his personal life hush-hush, and now he revealed the reason behind the same.
In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, Imran Khan shared that he deliberately wanted to shield his personal life with his ladylove, Lekha Washington, because of the complications around his divorce from Avantika. He mentioned that his romantic involvement with Lekha was a hot topic of gossip, which later developed into wild speculations. Imran stated that he wanted to protect his then-new relationship from the ugly aftermath of the wild speculations. Speaking along the same lines, Imran added:
"I have consciously tried to shield this part because of the complications of me divorcing and ending my marriage, which is always something that gets everyone, it's a very goss topic, which then leads to wild speculation. I was trying to shield from that ugliness and then in the aftermath of that, starting a new relationship. The weird threads that get attached to it, I have really tried to shield that part of my life and my relationship from public scrutiny."

Talking more about Lekha Washington, Imran Khan, in the same interview, mentioned that the former has been a positive influence in his life. Heaping praise on his ladylove, Imran added that she is a caring, supportive, and loving person. The actor also added that when he was struggling with depression and was rebuilding himself, he got a lot of love and care from Lekha. Sharing that he wouldn't be able to come out of the phase without the help of his ladylove, Imran mentioned:
"Lekha has been a tremendously positive and healthy influence in my life as a person, she is caring, supportive, loving to a fault. She has been very helpful. As I've grappled with depression and rebuilding myself, the kind of nurturing and support that I've gotten from her, I don't know that I would have been able to make this journey without her."
Earlier, in an interview with Vogue India, Imran Khan mentioned that while the reports about him being romantically involved with Lekha Washington are true, the way the latter was labeled as a 'homewrecker' is utterly baseless. He also clarified that he had been separated from Avantika since February 2019, and he came close to Lekha during the lockdown era. Clarifying the gossip, Imran shared that he and Lekha came close after one and a half years of his separation from Avantika, and after one year of Lekha's separation from her partner.

Talking to her IG stories, Lekha Washington earlier dropped an adorable photo of her along with her beau, Imran Khan as they attended Aamir Khan's daughter, Ira Khan's wedding. In the photo, Lekha looked pretty as she donned a green-hued sleeveless velvet blouse and a Banarasi skirt and teamed it with a sheen cape-style dupatta featuring beads and embroidery works on the borders. Imran, on the other hand, looked handsome in a black tuxedo.
