Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were once one of the most happening couples in Bollywood. The duo, who fell in love with one another during the shooting of their film, Bachna Ae Haseeno, left everyone’s jaws dropped with their sizzling chemistry, both on and off screen. At a time when everyone expected the two of them to take their relationship to the next level, Deepika and Ranbir broke up, on the grounds of the latter having cheated on her. Years later, it was again for the film, Tamasha that the exes came together and shared screen post-breakup.
In a recent interaction with News18, filmmaker, Imtiaz Ali, shed light on Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s dynamics while shooting his film, Tamasha, post their breakup. Well, considering the movie to be a rom-com, there is a moment in the film where Ranbir’s character goes onto kiss Deepika’s character. While it was all a part of the script, several nay-sayers ridiculed such a scene to be performed by the ex-couple. However, Imtiaz, on the contrary, revealed the importance of that particular scene, and revealed how filming it was a warm experience. In his words:
“We were shooting this at a studio. It was a stage that we created and lot of work had happened but this frame where he would enter from a certain place and he would enter from another place and they would be looking at each other from a very close distance. It’s a very difficult shot for actors to play because you are seeing them so close and one can’t formulate exactly what your reaction will be when you come so close to another person who belongs to the gender you are attracted to. It was a warm experience for all of us to watch.”

Moving forth in the conversation, Imtiaz Ali then dismissed several speculations that rose, which hinted that the ex-couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were in an affair together during the shooting of Tamasha. He claimed that as actors, the two have a life beyond the camera, and what got captured on the celluloid was nothing more than their mutual love for the craft of acting. He expressed:
“People feel that these people had an affair with each other, but beyond that for life of an actor, there is a love for performing with each other, which is very important and significant. You might love to act with each other also and these two actors have that. They have the love for acting with each other. That showed in that frame.”
In one of her earlier interviews with Sajid Khan, Deepika Padukone was asked to reveal the two things about her then-beau, Ranbir Kapoor, which she couldn’t stand. The actress found herself contemplating a bit and revealed how she doesn’t like his attitude of being perfectionist at work. However, when Sajid probed her further to reveal the second habit of Ranbir she couldn’t stand, Deepika blushingly said:
“That he loves me more than I love him.”

In one of his older media interactions, Ranbir Kapoor proved himself to be a green flag-BF for his then ladylove, Deepika Padukone, as he remembered in exact detail about his first date with her. The actor remembered calling out the diva for a lunch date at the Grand Hyatt hotel, post which the two of them headed out for a drive and a movie date. Moreover, he even recalled what Deepika wore that day and stated that she wore a white tank top with white linen pants and had her hair tied in a high bun.
