Mona Patel is an Indian fashion entrepreneur who took the internet by storm with her gorgeous 2024 Met Gala look. The diva is now back with another jaw-dropping fashion moment at the BFAs. Mona previously went viral for a butterfly dress by the visionary Iris designer, Van Herpen, at the Met Gala, so she definitely had an image to keep up with, and she did complete justice to her second public appearance. Mona chose another iconic museum-worthy piece while attending the British Fashion Awards 2024.
Mona Patel's sartorial picks have been the talk of the town ever since her debut at the Met Gala. And now, the diva is back decked in a stunning silver corset from Christian Lacroix Haute Couture collection. It was a vintage piece made of real silver and covered with crystals. The remarkable piece's history hails from the esteemed Spring-Summer 1996 collection. The corset was sold for USD 169,828.65 at an auction, which, as per INR, accounts for approximately Rs. 1,43,94,850 or Rs. 1.43 crore.
The corset is a masterpiece of design, with encrusted crystals all over and a butterfly design on the sleeves. Mona paired it with a silver skirt and kept her makeup minimal, allowing the corset to take center stage. With her hair tied in a bun, she looked stunning, the corset's design enhancing her beauty and allure. Mona completed her look with diamond earrings and rings.
Crafted to perfection, the off-shoulder corset is a testament to the highest levels of craftsmanship. It represents elegance and opulence, meticulously hand-woven from metallic silk taffeta and embroidered with lavish embellishments. The corset features thousands of hand-sewn crystals, a delicate silk organza beaded butterfly perched on the shoulder, a myriad of Swarovski beads and crystals, and teardrop crystals adorned on the front, shoulders, and hips, creating a dramatic cascade of light and elegance.
Mona Patel debuted on the prestigious Met Gala carpet this year, and her opulent ensemble surely made some noise in the fashion fraternity. Her custom-made Iris Van Herpen kinetic floor-length sculpted gown, featuring a butterfly-shaped corset and scalloped train, was a sight to behold.
