Ishaan Khatter is one of the most promising actors in the current generation. Half-brother of Shahid Kapoor, he made his first appearance on the silver screen with his debut film, Beyond the Clouds, in 2017. Thereafter, Ishaan gained overnight recognition with the romantic drama, Dhadak in 2018, co-starring Jahnvi Kapoor. Coming to his personal life, about a year ago, Ishaan Khatter bought a sea-facing home in Mumbai and gave everyone a tour of his beautiful home. It was designed by Sarah Sham, principal interior designer at Essajees Atelier and West Elm. Without any further ado, let us share with you some unmissable corners of Ishaan's home.
Ishaan Khatter always wished to live in a place where he could hear the sound of the sea waves. While living by the side of the sea is a dream for ordinary people, the Dhadak star made his dream a reality and purchased a luxurious sea-facing villa in Mumbai. The home opens into a sprawling living room which is both modern and also has a touch of old-school feel in it, courtesy of its wooden floor panelling, nude-shaded walls, rustic ceiling fans and more. Talking about it, Ishaan said:

"I wanted it (my home) to be a reflection of something modern, of course, but also have a classic, old-school feel to it. I wanted this room (the living room) to feel earthy and organic because you have a beautiful view of the sea, and that is really what I wanted to enjoy in this space."

To give the living room an organic touch, Ishaan has also arranged space for a bunch of indoor plants, that strikes a perfect balance. The living room has a beautiful view of the Arabian Sea, and undoubtedly, made it the actor's favourite space. Besides, the lavish living room has a large Hamilton leather couch, which looks super-comfy and spacious, and an ideal hangout spot for huge gathering of friends and family.
As Ishaan Khatter wanted to combine modernity with old-school style, Sarah Sham found the interior décor, quite a tough nut to crack. Sarah wanted to give the room the perfect vibe and ambience, just as Ishaan wanted it. She said:

"The challenge was to find new pieces that still had a bit of that charm, a little bit more comfortable, easy, homely and not have that very hard polished feel to it."
Right adjacent to the living room is Ishaan's sprawling dining room, which sheds a culmination of a traditional sitting area, with a hint of modern twist in it. The black marble top dining table doubles up as a pop-up of colour block within the neutral share of the extended living space. What makes the actor's dining table slightly different is its altered choice of seating, since it has low-back cushioned benches in place of usual high-back chairs. The addition of a few indoor plant pieces in the dining room continues to add a nuanced effect to the furnishings of the space.

One of the most interesting parts of Ishaan's home is surely the innovative media room that he has curated. Being a part of the entertainment industry, this space serves as a both an inspirational place, as well as a zone of passion. Apart from placing lazy boy couches in earthy hues, Ishaan has placed a wall-mounted wooden cabinet, that features his book collection, as well as curates a space for his awards. Moreover, the media room also has pictures, sketches and caricatures of numerous legendary actors.
Coming to the most sacrosanct space of the actor's home, Ishaan's bedroom, at the first go, hints towards a curious space, courtesy of a vibrant vanity space it first opens to. It consists of an asymmetric, lake-shaped mirror and a light blue wallpaper with elephant motifs. Moving forward, the main space of the bedroom immediately takes back the mind into the thoughts of serene and calming space, owing to its sage and daisy-themed colour palettes. While heavy curtains in white accentuate the relaxing vibe, the rustic cane and wooden-made console adds a touch of old-world charm.
