You know it is grand and lavish ceremony, when people from across the world including Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, Siddharth Roy Kapur-Vidya Balan Anil Kapoor-Sunita Kapoor, David Dhawan-Karuna Dhawan to Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan-Natasha Dalal, Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Raveena Tandon, Akshay Kumar, Sakshi Singh Dhoni-Ziva Dhoni, Manish Malhotra, former first lady of the United States of America, Hillary Clinton amongst others are in attendance. By now you would have guessed that we are talking about ‘THE WEDDING OF THE YEAR’ i.e. of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal. One of the richest men in Asia, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s daughter, Isha Ambani is all set to tie the knot with the ‘man of her dreams’, Anand Piramal, son of Ajay and Swati Piramal in a big fat pre-wedding and wedding ceremonies in Udaipur and Mumbai respectively.
On December 08, 2018, Isha and Anand's pre-wedding festivities will witness the Sandhya Maha Aarti for which, a 35 feet statue of Srinathji has been set up at Udaivilas hotel. A source had earlier shared, “The family has requested a floral set up on the vessel holding the idol of Shrinathji. Dancers will perform on the floating stage, in keeping with Indian customs and traditions. A few hours back we had shared the first look of soon-to-be-bride, Isha Ambani and her soon-to-be-bhabhi, Shloka Mehta, fiancée of Akash Ambani. A saree draping artist/stylist from Mumbai, Kalpana Shah shared a picture with Isha and Shloka on her Instagram handle and captioned it, "Beauty Glowing, Drape Flowing, Isha looks Mind-Blowing! Kalpana Shah Styling @ambani.isha for her wedding preparatory events. Former First Lady of the United States of America Hillary Clinton has landed in Udaipur for the pre-wedding celebrations of Isha Ambani-Anand Piramal. The bride’s parents Mukesh and Nita Ambani received the politician with lots of love and honour. Here’s a video of Hillary Clinton’s arrival at the pre-wedding venue:
Speaking of who all are attending the celebrations of the union of Ambani and Piramal, here’s what a source revealed to BollywoodShaadis, “Global corporate leaders, including steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, BP group chief executive Bob Dudley, 21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch and Diageo CEO Ivan Menezes, among others, descended on Udaipur to attend the wedding festivities of the daughter of Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), along with politicians, Bollywood stars and other prominent personalities.” (Also Read: Bollywood Celebs In Udaipur For Isha Ambani's Pre-Wedding Festivities, Even Hillary Clinton Arrives)
The source further revealed, “Other high-profile corporate leaders attending the wedding festivities include Khalid Al-Falih, chairman of Saudi Aramco; Bill Winters, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank; WPP founder Martin Sorell; Kenneth Hitchner, chairman and chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs in Asia Pacific ex-Japan; Nicolas Aguzin, chairman and CEO, JP Morgan Asia Pacific; Farhan Faruqui, group executive international, ANZ; Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum; Arianna Huffington, founder of The Huffington Post and CEO of Thrive Global; and Rajeev Suri, president and CEO of Nokia.”
Isha and Anand have kick-started their pre-wedding ceremonies in a unique way - by feeding 5,100 people, majority of them with special abilities, three times a day from December 7-10, 2018 in Udaipur. Along with Isha and Anand, their family members including Mukesh and Nita Ambani, Ajay and Swati Piramal, Anant Ambani were a part of the Anna Seva.
On December 7, 2018, Ambanis and Piramals released a joint statement detailing out about the Anna Seva ceremony which could be read as, “As a mark of respect and gratitude to the city of Udaipur, and to seek their blessings for the upcoming wedding of their daughter, the family has commenced a special “Anna Seva” - taking up the auspicious task of feeding 5100 people (majority of them with special abilities) three times everyday from 7th to 10th December, to coincide with the pre-wedding functions of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal on 8th & 9th December. Family members, including Mukesh and Nita Ambani, Ajay and Swati Piramal, Isha and Anand were present at this Anna Seva function, serving people and interacting with them. The Anna Seva functions will continue for four days, from 7th to 10th December and will be performed three times a day at the Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur."
The statement could be further read as, “In addition, the pre-wedding festivities will also see the setting up of a specially curated exhibit called the Swadesh Bazaar that will showcase 108 traditional Indian Crafts and art forms from all different regions of the country for the national and international guests. Presenting the art will be master craftsmen and craftswomen themselves, who are keeping these traditional arts alive. Creating an interesting experience as also an immersion into India’s cultural heritage. Swadesh Bazaar is a unique concept to encourage the craftsmanship of traditional Indian artisans, especially for a lot of indigenous crafts that need conservation and revival and have been supported by Reliance Foundation over the years. The Foundation aims to broaden and deepen its support to the goals of Swadesh Bazaar on a bigger and more sustainable scale in future.”
And lastly, the official statement concluded with these words, “From the rich Kanjeevaram, exclusive Patola, intricate Chikankari to fine Bandhani, exhibits cover over 30 types of textiles and weaves. Depicting folktales and local legends, artists will showcase ancient painting forms like Gond, Madhubani, Phad, Warli and Thangka. Weavers, potters and sculptures from all around the country will make this a mega-celebration of art and culture.
