Big Brother is an American reality show where contestants are locked in a house for 100 days and are cut off from the outside world. The popular Indian reality show, Bigg Boss, is an adaptation of this very show. Back in 2012, Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty entered Big Brother and emerged as the first Indian to win the show.
Now, in 2023, history repeated itself, and Jag Bains, an Indian-origin Sikh, won the 25th season of the reality show. Jag Bains is a truck company owner, and it settled in Omak, Washington. He, along with his brother, also runs a real estate business. Jag Bains, a huge Big Brother fan, entered the show to represent the Sikh community.

On August 2, 2023, the 25th season of American reality show, Big Brother premiered on CBS. This season featured the first-ever Sikh contestant, Jag Bains, whose sole aim on the show was to represent the Sikh community and win it. Talking about his love and respect for the Sikh community, Jag added:
"Representing my Sikh community is so important to me. I wear a turban. This is how I represent myself every day. So to come to the show, be who I am, represent not only myself, but my family, my people, my community, it means the world to me."
On November 9, 2023, Jag Bains was crowned as the first Indian-origin Sikh winner of the American show after the majority of the former contestants voted in his favour. The finale was between Jag and Matt Klotz, a 27-year-old Deaflympics swimmer from Louisiana. Matt is also the first deaf contestant on the show.

Jag Bains was awarded the prestigious title as the winner after the jury voted in his favour; apart from that, Jag also took home a whooping USD 7,50,000 as prize money. Matt bagged USD 75,000 as the prize money for being the first runner-up. After winning the title, Jag said:
"To be able to win this with integrity and loyalty the whole time is exactly what I wanted to do."
We congratulate Jag Bains for being the first Indian-origin Sikh to win the title of Big Brother.
