Actor and comedian, Johnny Lever is one of the most talented comedians in Bollywood. He is known for his quick wit and impressive comic timing. The actor used to give back-to-back hits during the peak time of his career. However, this left him with no time to spend with his kids. Now, his daughter, Jamie Lever has shared deets about their 'father-daughter time' on the podcast, AfterHours with All About Eve.
Since Johnny Lever was delivering back-to-back applaud-worthy performance, he was always busy with work. Thus, he could not spend time with his kids, Jamie and Jesse, during their childhood. On the podcast, Jamie shared that she and her brother faced the absence of their father while growing up. Sharing the details, Jamie was quoted saying:

“Everybody had their father-daughter time, but I never really got that. And even my brother, we didn’t. Because he was shooting four or five films daily, he never really took us to school; he wasn’t available when we returned.”

During the absence of their father due to his work, Jamie and her brother, Jesse, were raised by their mother, Sujatha Lever. The siblings shared most of their time with their mother. Also, they were surrounded by a big extended family who never let them feel any void. Johnny Lever also tried to make up for his absence in different ways, like giving them gifts and affection during occasional home visits.
When Jamie and Jesse grew up and were about to go to college, Johnny realised the importance of spending more time with his kids. So, he became more picky about his projects and kept a lot of time from his schedule for his kids. Sharing the incident, Jamie said:
“But I feel like when we started going to college, he realized that he really needs to be present. Now he makes sure that every morning we sit, we have breakfast together.”

Jamie Lever has made several appearances as a comedian in TV shows like, Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali. The actress-comedian was last seen in the comedy-drama series, Pop Kaun co-starring her father, Johnny Lever. Recently, she made her Telugu debut with the film, Aa Okkati Adakku that released on May 3, 2024 co-starring Allari Naresh, Faria Abdullah and Vennela Kishore.
