In an interview with the Bollywood Bubble, Janhvi Kapoor opened up about her insecurities. She mentioned those people, who judge for both-coming from a privileged family and also those who don't. She called them 'hypocritical'. She added that without paying any heed to it, she would keep on doing her work until she win them over. The actress said:
“You know it’s kind of ironic because what they are asking for is to not be judged for not coming from a place of privilege. But many of them judge you for coming from a place of privilege so it’s slightly hypocritical. But I’ll take it all with a smile because I’m getting to do what I love to do. So if like three out of the ten people have a problem with where I come from then I’ll keep walking till I win them over."
Further, in the same conversation, Janhvi said she had faced trolling from her childhood days because of her parents. She mentioned that whatever she used to do or wherever she used to go, some people used to give the whole credit to her parents. Due to this, the actress had then created a complex in her brain that she isn't doing anything which she deserves. Mentioning that because of these comments, whenever someone used to ask her for a picture, her mom, Sridevi or dad, Boney's image used to flush in front of her. She added:
"Right from school, they’ve always been people who’ve said that anything and everything you get in life is not because of yours but because of your parents so somewhere that’s I think had created a complex in my brain that I’m not deserving of anything even if I do well. It’s a thing that you always live with a little bit subconsciously and it’s not that tragic but it does make you look at things a certain way so for a long time I did and I think that I am still dealing with it. Sometimes when people ask me for a picture I still think in my head that it is because I am Sridevi’s daughter or like dad's (Boney Kapoor) daughter.”
