Janhvi Kapoor often hits the headlines for her love life, as she is often linked to one handsome hunk or another. While she is rumoured to be dating Shikhar Pahariya at the moment, her link-up rumours with Orhan Awataramani and Akshat Rajan also created a lot of buzz. Janhvi rarely addresses the reports about her alleged affairs and continues to slay. However, now Janhvi opened up about her love life and revealed how being honest with her parents about the same made her life easier.
In a candid conversation with Kusha Kapila on Swipe Ride with Tinder, Janhvi Kapoor opened up about her dating life and recalled how her mother, Sridevi reacted to the same. She revealed that her mother once showed up at her school as soon as she found out that a boy had a crush on Janhvi and also complained to her teacher. The actress said:

“Mumma came to my school when she found out this guy had a crush on me. She came to school and complained to my teacher. She barged into school, and she’s like, ‘I did not send her to the school so all of this rubbish could happen.’”

When Kusha asked Janhvi if Bollywood has impacted her idea of love, the actress revealed that it did. Adding that the perception of love depends on one's frame of mind and the people in one's life, the actress shared she doesn't like it when somebody is not obsessed with her. In her words:
“It really depends on your frame of mind and the people in your life. Yes it has influenced my view on love a lot. Like, if a person isn’t that tadpaoing and dying for me and thinking about me, I’m like, then, ‘What are you doing? This isn’t fast food.'”
In the same interview, the Bawaal actress also spoke about her first serious relationship and revealed why it did not work out. She revealed how they used to meet secretly and had thrilling adventures and added that everything ended as she had to lie so much. Reflecting on her parents' conservative nature, Janhvi said:
“My first ever serious boyfriend was that same age, and we were like chup chup ke milna and all of that, and there was a thrill in that. But unfortunately, that relationship ended because I had to lie so much. Mom and dad were like, ‘No, you will never have a boyfriend.’ They were very conservative.”

However, Janhvi Kapoor mentioned the valuable lesson she learnt from her first relationship and shared how parents’ approval and transparency make everything so easy. She added that her parents' support makes her feel confident about her decisions and stated:
“That’s when I realised, having your parents’ approval and having transparency with them makes everything so easy. It makes you feel so much more confident about your decisions, and having them to share things with and vice versa, it’s just very wholesome.”
On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor will next be seen in the film, Mr and Mrs Mahi, opposite Rajkummar Rao.
