There are many dates in the history of Bollywood that will forever be marked as the dreadful ones. One such date is February 24, 2018, as it was a dreadful day for the entire Bollywood industry as it was the morning when we woke up to the news of the sudden and unfortunate demise of veteran actor, Sridevi Kapoor. It has been two years since she had passed away, but we can still feel that void that she had left behind in films, events, and glamour industry. The Kapoor family is still trying to cope up with the huge loss even to this very day but it’s that they don’t prefer to scratch those wounds now. Whether we talk about Boney Kapoor or two daughters, Janhvi And Khushi Kapoor. (Recommended Read: Parag Tyagi's Father Dies Of Heart-Attack, Actor With His Wife, Shefali Jariwala Fly For Last Rites)
All of them have learned to live with the memories of late Sridevi and that constant pain of not having her in their big moments. Recently, in an interview, the young actress has revealed that she would love to recreate some of her mother’s iconic dance songs on the big screen. Also, she talked about the way her mother used to get prepared for her performances at home and a lot more.
In an interview with the Filmfare, Janhvi Kapoor talked about her late mother and legendary actress, Sridevi’s iconic dance numbers which she would like to recreate on the big screen if given chance. The young actress revealed that “I don’t know, all her songs from Chandni and Kaate Nahi Kat Te from Mr India. It wasn’t a dance number, but she was so expressive with her body, there was no dance movement as such, but she still caught the beat and the rhythm and those latkas and jhatkas were all so perfect. Hawa Hawai was such a fun song. The part where she’s having a ball of a time with the fruits and topi was done improvisation.” (Don’t Miss: MS Dhoni's Wife, Sakshi Lashes Out On People Trending #Dhoniretires, Deletes Her Tweet Afterwards)
Going further in the same interview, Janhvi Kapoor also talked about her mother’s views about dancing and how her mother used to tell her that the real meaning of dancing is to enjoy it thoroughly. She said, “Mom always thought that in dance it’s not all about the steps, they are the last thing that you need to be thinking about. The most important thing, that she said one must do while dancing is to enjoy it thoroughly and have fun.” The Dhadak actress also revealed an incident talking about the way her mother used to rehearse for her performances on the events. Janhvi said, “I fondly remember one particular award function as a kid where I saw mom rehearse after a long time. I still remember that she was just marking the steps in the hall at home instead of rehearsing. When I saw her on stage, I was surprised to see her performing so beautifully. This was nothing that I saw at home. She’d blown everyone away with that performance.”
Ever since this young and dynamic Janhvi Kapoor had made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with the film, Dhadak, she had never shied away from giving an insight into the lives of the Kapoors and her relationship with her late mom, Sridevi. And once during the Benetton fragrance launch event, Janhvi had given a sneak peek into her memory lane, describing scents that reminded her of some of the most cherishable moments of her life, which are related with her late mother, Sridevi. Revealing her mother's favourite scent, Janhvi had said, "My childhood smells like my mom. We used to spend a lot of time in our home in Chennai, and she used to put mogras all over our house and in her hair, so it smells like her."
