February 24, 2018, was the most shocking day for Bollywood as it had lost one of its shiniest gems, Sridevi. For her husband, Boney Kapoor and their kids, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, their entire world came collapsing and they still have not come out of the grief. It was Janhvi, who had stood like a pillar for her father and sister. However, there is not a single day when the Dhadak actress doesn’t miss the presence of her mother in her life.
On October 6, 2021, Janhvi Kapoor had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared a carousel post from her good days. In one of the pictures, we could see Janhvi flaunting her tattoo. It was a handwritten note by her mother, Sridevi, which she had written for Janhvi — ''I love you my labbu''. She had got it inked on her hand.

Janhvi Kapoor had always dreamt of joining Bollywood and the stunning celeb kid made her debut in 2018 with the film, Dhadak, under Dharma Productions. In an interview with ETimes, Janhvi talked about her mother, Sridevi’s first reaction when she had shown a keen interest in joining Bollywood and told her about her acting dreams. Sridevi’s instant response to the same was “don’t get into it”. According to Sridevi, she had worked hard all the years to give a comfortable life to her daughters, which the industry can never provide as Janhvi would have to face a lot of challenges and could also get hurt.
In her first-ever formal interview post her mother’s demise, Janhvi had talked about coping with the tragedy. While talking to Vogue in an interview taken by Karan Johar, Janhvi had talked about her mother, Sridevi and revealed her last words to her before she had left for Dubai. She had said:

“I could always be the baby with her. When I’d wake up, the first thing I’d do was ask for her. I’d need her to put me to sleep sometimes and she literally had to feed me. The day before she left for the wedding, I had to shoot, but I couldn’t sleep, so I was like, “I need you to come and put me to sleep.” But she was packing, so by the time she came to me I was half asleep. But I could feel her patting my head."

On her mother’s first death anniversary, Janhvi had taken to her Instagram handle and had written the most heart-wrenching lines. She had shared a monochrome picture of her mother’s hand in her hand and had written:
“My heart will always be heavy. But I’ll always be smiling because it has you in it.”
On the professional front, Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in the film, Good Luck Jerry!
