Tragically, the diva's mom left for her heavenly abode a few months prior to the release of her debut film in 2018.
There's no denying the fact that Sridevi was widely loved by her fans for her contribution to the film industry, not only in Bollywood but also in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries. The talented actress started her career in the South Indian film industry at the age of 4 years. And now, Sridevi's daughter, Janhvi is also all set to make her South Indian debut. Beforehand, she talked about the immense love she received from the South Indian audience.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Janhvi Kapoor was asked how it feels to receive that much love and respect from the South Indian film Industry and whether it makes her feel nervous because her mom, Sridevi's legacy is there. To this, Janhvi stated that her nervousness ended with her debut film, Dhadak. Talking about the love she has received from the South Indian film industry, Janhvi shared that it actually feels like a homecoming to her. Janhvi shared that it felt like she was coming home when she went on set. Elaborating more on the same, the Dhadak actress shared:
"Honestly, mera nervous or anxious hone ka quota maine Dhadak ke sath hi shayad khatam kar liya. But the feeling that I am getting from the South is so much love. Woh log jis tarah se aapko apnate haina, honestly it feels like a homecoming; aise jab mai set pe gayi thi aise lag raha tha ki mai ghar aa rahi hu.”
Janhvi Kapoor also shared that the reason behind the immense love from the South industry is because her mom, Sridevi's legacy, is still there. She also mentioned that she wants to return the love to the audience, and she has been trying hard for the same. Janhvi Kapoor can be quoted as saying:
"It feels overwhelming, I think the sense of ownership that they have over me because of various reasons, predominantly my mom, it’s very strong. So, I feel like I need to give them that love back like I have tried very hard ki mai aap log ko bhi woh pyar wapas du koshish jaari hai toh unke sath bhi wahi karna chahti hu."

Earlier in an interview with Pinkvilla, Janhvi Kapoor talked about the hard phase of life recalling Sridevi's demise. The actress shared that dealing with it was really tough. She shared that during that time, doing work was really hard. Calling it the biggest war, Janhvi mentioned:
"I think definitely when I lost mom. I was shooting for Dhadak, and dealing with her loss was quite tough, and also somehow finding the will to keep working but also finding a way to deal with all of these things happening in our lives was tough. Figuring that out was definitely the biggest war in my life."
