Not only Sridevi but her elder daughter and Bollywood's newfound sensation, Janhvi Kapoor is also very popular, especially on the internet. Time and again, Janhvi recreates her mother's iconic looks, shares her precious memories or talks about the values instilled in her by her mother. In an interview with Rajeev Masand, Janhvi had talked about the legacy of her parents which she intends to take forward and the effects of being a star kid. She had shared that she doesn't take her mother's legacy lightly and had said that she thinks of it as a responsibility. Her mother, in particular, had gotten so much love and appreciation from the audience. Janhvi had further shared that she has learnt the art of 'working hard' from her mother, Sridevi. She had stated that she doesn’t think it is possible, for anyone, let alone her to be like the legendary actress. However, her intention with her work is the same. The kind of hard work she had put in, has been inculcated in Janhvi too, by DNA, and conditioning. On February 24, 2021, to mark her mother, Sridevi ji's third death anniversary Janhvi Kapoor had posted a handwritten note written by her late mom. The handwritten note could be read as "I love you my labby. You are the best baby in the world". And the actress had simply captioned the note as "Miss you."
During Roohi's promotional interview with the Hindustan Times, Janhvi Kapoor had described her characters, Afza and Roohi as ‘very animalistic, inhumane energy’ and ‘vulnerable, fragile docile’ respectively. Back in 1989, her mother, Sridevi had done such diverse roles in her film, ChaalBaaz. When Janhvi was asked if she took inspiration from them, she had retorted, “There was no real reference point for Afza’s character, and I was trying to be conscious about not mimicking anyone. I don’t think anyone in the world can match up to the level of work that my mother has put out. I would honestly always have a hard time watching ChaalBaaz because they were very mean to her in the film. As a kid, I was very traumatised every time I tried to watch that film.” (Don't Miss: Kamya Panjabi Reveals Why She Left Her Ex-Husband, Bunty Negi After He Met With An Accident)
