Javed Akhtar is one of the most renowned personalities in the Indian music industry. The popular screenwriter and lyricist has written several memorable songs like Shaam, Jashn-e-Bahara, Do Pal, Main Agar Kahoon, Dil Dhakdakne Do and many more. He has even written the screenplay of popular films like Sholay, Mr. India, Deewar, Saagar, Betaab, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Lakshya, Don: The Chase Begins Again and others. Talking about his personal life, Javed Akhtar married twice. Earlier, he was married to Honey Irani, with whom he has two kids, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. And in 1984, he tied the knot for the second time with veteran actress, Shabana Azmi.
In an interview with Cyrus Broacha, Javed Akhat reminisced some lesser-known anecdotes about his life. Talking about the same, the lyricist went down the memory lane and recalled an incident from the sets of Rajesh Khanna's 1977 film, Tyaag. He revealed that he met a French woman, Joseanne on the sets, and that memory stayed with him. Elaborating more about it, Javed mentioned how they eventually became friends. In his words:

"A few days later, we went on the sets of Andaaz of Sippy films, and there was a party scene, and lo and behold, the same girl was there. We became friends, and after that, she told me that she, along with her friends, lives in the Rex hotel, behind the Taj Mahal hotel. She asked me to meet her after the shoot so I went to meet her, and she introduced me to other friends, and we became good friends."

Further, in the same conversation, Javed Akhtar added that Joseanne's other friends left, but she stayed in Mumbai only. The lyricist mentioned that they frequently started meeting each other. However, their daily rendezvous started digging a hole in Javed's pocket, and eventually, he asked her to either marry him or go back. In his words:
"From Taj till Bandra, the taxi used to charge Rs. 14. One day I realised what was happening. So I told her either she should go back or marry me. She said, 'I will go back, but I don't have the money.' So, I said 'don't worry about that, I will take care of it.' Whatever money I had I bought her ticket, and she left."
In the same interview, Javed Akhtar revealed that he reunited with Joseanne after 38 years. Talking about the same, he mentioned that he and his wife, Shabana Azmi, were at the Kaala Ghoda festival, where he met Joseanne. Javed Akhtar also added that he even met her family when he went to Paris. Elaborating more about his visit, he mentioned that he took gifts for Joseanne's husband and their daughters. Concluding his talk, Javed Akhtar revealed how the French woman showed him the boarding card that he gave her 38 years ago when she was leaving Mumbai. In his words:
"Many years later, I was invited to launch the Kaala Ghoda festival and me and Shabana reached and we were going towards the stage and a voice came in my ears, 'Javed'. A French accent is different. I turned and a lady was standing there. I asked, 'Joseanne?' and she said, 'yes'. I told her to not go away. She told me that she has three daughters and next time, I went to Paris, I took gifts for everyone. Her partner, all three daughters had come to meet me because they knew about me. Then she said, 'wait a minute'. She went inside and came back and gave me the boarding card which was 38 years old."

Earlier, in a candid conversation with Arbaaz Khan on his show, The Invincibles Javed Akhtar opened up about his successful marriage with Shabana Azmi. Talking about the same, he revealed that living a blissful life with an independent, strong woman like Shabana Azmi isn't a bed of roses.
