Bollywood actress, Kangana Ranaut is known for her fierce personality and for never mincing her words. The actress is a boss lady who always speaks for herself and often makes controversial statements, landing herself in trouble. One such spat of the actress was with Javed Akhtar, who allegedly threatened her to apologise to actor, Hrithik Roshan, following her remark on their alleged romance. Later, Javed filed a defamation case against Kangana, denying having intimidated her ever.
On June 12, 2023, veteran lyricist, Javed Akhtar appeared in a Mumbai court regarding the defamation case he filed against Kangana Ranaut. He claimed that the accusations levied against him by Kangana Ranaut back in June 2020 were inaccurate. During cross-examination, Kangana's lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee asked Akhtar if it was true that he didn't disclose the true reason for his meeting with the actress because her allegations were true. To which, Javed Akhtar dismissed all the statements and said:

"Whatever Kangana said in the interview is a lie and nothing but a lie."

Further sharing the details of the meeting held at his house, Javed Akhtar revealed that Kangana had come to his house to find out a solution to settle issues with her co-star, Hrithik Roshan. However, when the lyricist was asked if the actress and her sister came to his house 'obediently', he said:
"You expect obedience from Kangana, it is not called obedience, but possibility for something...some kind of a solution. Physical reality is they came to my house, but obedience is a notion only in mind."
Javed Akhtar also stated that Kangana was well aware of the agenda of their meeting as he had already told her on the phone. However, he added that as the actress was unwilling to listen to him, he changed the topic when he met her. Javed also claimed that Kangana's statement about being unhappy and afterwards leaving the meeting was untrue. In his words:
"I had told her about the agenda of the meeting on call. Didn't call her to discuss the weather, political situation or America election in 2016."

Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut worked together in the Bollywood films, Krrish 3 and Kites. Time and again, in many of her media interviews, Kangana Ranaut stated that she was in a romantic relationship with Hrithik Roshan. However, in 2016, the actor filed a lawsuit against Kangana, asking her to apologise for damaging his reputation through her statements. In his complaint, Hrithik claimed that there was no relationship between them and asked Kangana to apologise to him, threatening to sue her for defamation if she didn't comply. However, the actress too responded with a legal notice and denied the charges levied against her and alleged criminal intimidation.

For the uninitiated, in a media interview following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput back in 2020, Kangana Ranaut revealed that Javed Akhtar called her to his house and threatened her. Mentioning that Rakesh Roshan is a big personality, the lyricist asked Kangana to apologise to her co-star, Hrithik Roshan for their public spat over her remark about their alleged romance. She also stated that Javed Akhtar told her that she would end up committing suicide if she didn't consider his advice. The Queen actress said:
"Once Javed Akhtar called me to his house and told me Rakesh Roshan (father of Hrithik Roshan) and his family are very big people. If you don't apologise to them, you will have nowhere to go. They will put you in jail, and eventually, the only path would be that of destruction… you will commit suicide. These were his words. He shouted and yelled at me. I was shaking in his house."
