Renowned life coach, British podcaster and bestselling author, Jay Shetty is one of the most influential personalities. Born in a Hindu family to a Gujarati mother and a Tulu Bunt father, Jay was raised in London. In his mid-20s, Jay left his thriving career and embarked on an unconventional path of spirituality. He claimed to have spent three years of his life at an undisclosed ashram in India, leading a life of a monk.
Jay Shetty has a massive fanbase across the world as he is one of the most followed life coaches with more than 50 million followers. Not only this, Jay Shetty has also penned two best-selling books, Think Like A Monk and 8 Rules of Love: How to Find It, Keep It and Let It Go. In 2019, he launched his own podcast, On Purpose, and it became the number-one podcast in the world.
In a world where finding a good match is next to impossible, Jay found his soulmate, Radhi, through spiritual intervention. What started as a seva in an ashram turned into a tale of lifelong companionship. Let us look at the unheard love story of the popular life coach and his equally popular life partner, Radhi Devlukia Shetty.
Radhi’s mother introduced her to Jay, a practising monk at the time. While interviewing his wife on his podcast, On Purpose, Jay recalled their love story and revealed that he helped Radhi’s mother with a certain service at the temple. Afterwards, she suggested that Radhi should get involved with temple programs.
The couple often interacted about various aspects of spirituality, and Radhi was in awe of Jay and the way he addressed people with his wisdom. After Jay left his monkhood, his sister told him about Radhi’s feelings towards him, and they started dating soon. In his podcast, Jay revealed what attracted him to Radhi and he stated:

"I'd seen her interact with other people ... I'd seen her personality, seen how she talked to other people and based on all those things I thought she was a great person. So when my sister told me that [Devlukia-Shetty was interested in me], I was secretly quite happy.”
Jay and Radhi dated for some time and got married in 2016 in a traditional Hindu ceremony. However, the couple couldn’t go on their honeymoon until more than three years of their marriage. After more than three years of marriage, Jay and Radhi went to Bora Bora, and it was Jay who meticulously planned every detail of their holiday.
Despite being head-over-heels in love with one another, Jay and Radhi have grown together and learnt a lot about companionship after their marriage. Talking about the same in his podcast, Jay said:
“In 2016, we got married, changed jobs, moved countries, and moved our home all within three months. And that's a lot. I think that pressured us to really figure out how to operate together as a couple in a very intense period of time, as opposed to, often, you kind of wouldn't get that intensity if you didn't go through all of that together.”
Being a public figure often creates problems in people’s lives. Jay and Radhi, too, are often subjected to the same as being popular faces. The duo often face trolling regarding their relationship. Some time back, there were rumours that Jay and Radhi were not together and were parting ways. For Radhi, facing online haters who speculate about everything about her relationship is difficult.
On the other hand, Jay understands that people come up with perceptions, and it is difficult to combat them. As per him, his and Radhi’s relationship is based on a strong foundation, and nothing can hamper it. In his words:
“If you let everyone have a say on your relationship, then you don't have a relationship with the person. You have a relationship with all those people.”
Jay Shetty and Radhi Devlukia’s meeting while participating in a seva solidifies their love and shared passion for helping others. Their love is not about momentary feelings but about making a difference in the world for the better.
