Hanif Zaveri recalls how the bond between Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan made it certain that they were romantically linked

Recently, a veteran author and film historian, Hanif Zaveri sat for an interview and revealed shocking details about the alleged love triangle between the three Bollywood actors, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Rekha. As per a report by DNA, Hanif recently sat for an interview on the Meri Saheli podcast, wherein he shared that during the shoot of Do Anjaane, Rekha and Amitabh became very close. Hanif stated that while he doesn't know how the duo fell in love, the bond between them was reportedly so deep that it was certain that they were in love. Hanif can be quoted as saying:

"They got very close, and I don’t know how they fell in love, but it is 100 per cent certain that they were in love."

In the same interview, Hanif Zaveri shared that it was Jaya Bachchan who stood like a strong pillar behind her husband, Amitabh Bachchan when he met with a fatal accident on the sets of his film, Coolie. Jaya gave her all to her husband, Amitabh's healing journey, which made her realise his wife's devotion to him. Following this, tension between the alleged lovers, Rekha and Big B reportedly escalated, and that's when Jaya took a bold step.

As per Hanif Zaveri, Jaya Bachchan once invited Rekha for lunch during Amitabh Bachchan's absence. She fed Rekha well and chatted with her a lot. Hanif recalled that when Rekha was about to leave the place after enjoying the brunch with Jaya, the latter looked deep into her eyes and said that Amitabh was only hers, which he was and would always be. Hanif Zaveri recalled:

"She fed her well, chatted a lot, and when it was time to part ways, Jaya looked at Rekha and said, ‘Amitabh is mine. He was mine and will always be mine.'"

In an interview with People magazine, Jaya Bachchan was asked about the buzz if she was the reason that Rekha and Amitabh didn't work anymore. To this, Jaya stated that if they would work together, it would be more like a sensation than the actual work, which is a pity as no one would miss a chance to see the on-screen couple together, and they should realise that it would go beyond work. Jaya further addressed the buzz about Amitabh and Rekha's alleged affair. She said that her life would be hell if she would believe in the same buzz about her husband.
