Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan are counted as one of the evergreen couples in Indian cinema. The duo, who has been going strong together for so many years, have set an inspiration for many out there, as their companionship and sheer respect for one another is exemplary. For the unversed, Amitabh and Jaya got married in 1973 and are blessed with two children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan. Recently, Jaya Bachchan made some candid confessions about her husband on her granddaughter, Navya Nanda’s podcast.
In the finale episode of the podcast, What The Hell Navya 2, Navya Nanda brought out the topic of putting romance in the middle of friendship. To this, her doting grandmother opened up on her share of anecdotes and revealed how her husband, Amitabh Bachchan has always remained one of her closest friends. The veteran star added that she has never hidden anything from him. In her words:
“If two people are just friends, is it correct to put romance in between a friendship?” Jaya replied, “My closest friends are inside my house. It’s true, my husband is my best friend. I don’t hide anything from him.”

Shweta Bachchan claims her children can never become friends to her
Moving forth in the same discussion, Navya’s mother, Shweta Bachchan added in her views on the topic of friendship and remarked how she dislikes the fact that parents easily call their children as their friends. Sharing her own perspective to it, the star-daughter added that her own children can never become her friends, as there are certain lines that cannot be overlooked. She said:
“I don’t know why everyone likes to say, ‘my daughter is my best friend’ or ‘my son is my best friend. We are not friends. You are my mother, there are certain lines that I cannot cross with you. My children are my children and my friends are my friends.”
In an earlier episode of her granddaughter’s podcast, Jaya Bachchan was asked by Navya Nanda, to reveal the reason due to which the former tries to stay away from social media. For the unversed, the Bachchan clan often makes headlines due to the alleged tiff between certain members. Coming back to Jaya’s response, the actress revealed how people already know enough about them, and so there is no necessity of posting pictures from private moments for others to see.

In another episode of Navya Nanda’s show, Jaya Bachchan recalled some difficult moments faced by Amitabh Bachchan, after he became entangled in a case of bankruptcy. The doting wifey revealed that it was at such times that she stood beside him like a pillar of strength. In her words:
“I don't know whether I did the right thing or wrong but it's also nice when a man is going through this phase, is just to be there and be quiet. Instead of weee-wee (gibberish) it is annoying. If they want your help if they need it they will."
